Great debut from Kevin Juhl Pedersen, considering he was racing against a few number 1's  in the Championship,he certainly didn't disgrace himself. Definitely one to watch this season, hope Mario does well

Kevin certainly doesnt get put off by less than perfect track conditions due to weather. The lad can certainly gate, ride slick or grippy, can ride a tight inside line and when pushed to the outside isnt fazed either. Extremely professional approach , fantastic determination and looks like a great signing for Glasgow after outshining several heat leaders who know Ashfiled like the back of their hand.

A trick is missed every year. The first two weekends of the season should be a 4TT with Glasgow, Edinburgh, Berwick and Workington. Get big crowds in and some semi competitive racing before the real business starts.

East Coast one weekend, Edinburgh Friday & Berwick Saturday then Glasgow and Worky the other.

The only problem I see with that idea is, it's not giving all the sides riders some "semi-competitive" rides. Each team would have to have two riders sitting out each "round".

Other than that it's a cracking idea.

Nice idea in an ideal world, but hopelessly impracticable.

I agree with Steve Park (!!!!) that such a competition would mean the lower-order riders (who might need it most) would be deprived of early-season action under racing conditions.

However, what rules the idea out in this day and age is that none of the clubs could afford it!

Paying your top earners for three away meetings out of the takings from just one home 'gate' would be an impossible financial burden.

His gating on Saturday wasn't great (the final aside), but if he can get that sorted then he'll fly at home. Saw enough to see he should be a very good #4. Just need to see how Mario fares. Decent team though.

Perhaps if the riders weren’t so greedy and rode for sensible money giving that it’s a pre-season warm-up event .It might generate some new supporters giving its local event. still that’s speedway riders these days take the cash and give nothing back.

With only 8 home league meetings in the Championship and a scattering of others you'll be lucky if many riders break even if they aren't doing both leagues or riding abroad. Riders can't afford to be so charitable anymore.

Pull the other one.Nothing wrong with giving little back to the sport that gives you a years salary  for 5-6 months work .Many are overpaid for how they perform.
