Loftus 2.14 (39.49) Would leave a little bit of wiggle room incase somebody isnt pulling their weight, average drop etc. If gusts is to ride over here I can see it being one of the bigger shaped tracks can’t see him going back to Oxford he hated the track, would be a class signing at this level on a 5.50 average. Obviously his scores were expected to go down when he moved up from reserve, but it was so drastic that he doesn't feel good value on a 7.35 average now. Maybe thinking of this season Average wise. Some riders do.

He's one rider who could've certainly put a point on his average (if fully fit)

Agree with Gusts, poor at Oxford but decent away. Edited Sunday at 09:18 PM by szkocjasid

Doesn't make sense to me, if he carried on his reserve scoring, I'd not think twice about signing an 8 point rider on an 8.5 average, after such a great season. But a 6 point rider on a 7.5 average I'd steer clear of. As a fan I'd feel insulted if a rider didn't always try their best, but it's a shame if a rider doing well costs them a team spot. Don't really know the answer to that? Edited Sunday at 09:37 PM by szkocjasid
szkocjasid
Kinda feel like if Dan was the new number one, Joe would come too? Dan Thompson - 8.50 Paco Castagna - 7.05 Kye Thomson - 5.93 Joe Thompson - 5.72 Francis Gusts - 5.49 Luke Harrison - 4.97 Jordy Loftus - 2.14 Total - 39.80

But averaging 3.5 less at number 1 is far more extreme, so would make me think riding in the top 5 means he's far nearer a 6 point rider, than a 7.35 rider (his final average). He had a really good first season and was progressing after getting to know all the tracks. If he has chosen to join another team there is nothing we can do about it with all riders self employed. If we have not included him for a rider that is "fitting" the averages that is something else. I have always trusted the promoters to build a good team within budget. Top end strength and decent reserves seems to be an essential for success now. Loftus and Grahn were must have riders for me , starting at the low end and it looks like we will benefit with a decent top end rider by default because of the 8+ rule. Mr Campbell it is over to you. JanAndersen
Where is the Dan Thompson stuff coming from? Just that with the supposed new 8pt rule he’d be looking for a new club? I could see him binning the championship next season if that’s the situation.

There is no mention of his illness which seems to have had a serious effect. This was the message from the pits, I believe. Leaving a healthy and fit Victor out may be something we will regret.
