I personally think he's one of the most inexperienced no.1s in the league and may be one of the worst next season.

But being an intelligent young lad, unlike some supporters, he will learn and grow from the experience no matter if he struggles or thrives.

When i read posts like yours it makes it so easy to see why so many young British riders quit so early.

I think he (Dan T) could end up with a 9.5 ave, I don't see what's funny about that?

I hope you are right, he's the next cab off the rank for GB so to see him flourish again in 2026 would be great. Exoect him to be in the SWC team.

Its a pity when people just laugh at opinions on here without presenting their own argument as to why they disagree.

Cheers, I am certainly confused, some responses were as if I said Joe Thompson would be a 9.5 rider, rather than Dan!

Completely understand people disagreeing, but laughing - not so much.

As for the SWC, he'll definitely be in the squad, can't be far away from the team?

I guess the main four probably pick themselves in Lambert, Bewley, Woffy & Brennan but the fifth spot is pretty open. Would be nice to see a youngster like Dan grab it.

I just do not see how Dan T could possibly get to a 9.5 average. It would be great to see a young brit get to the same level as Lawson and higher than Chris Harris but on all I have seen up to now I just don't see it although I have no doubt he will be a good number one in this league and maintain his current average.

If he can get back to the level he was at before breaking his wrist and also keep up last years performances at Edinburgh (38+1/42 points scored) he has a chance but he will have to do it at number 1 so will be tough. I think if he can break into the 9 point range and hold it he would have had a great season

Yep I think your right, not a number 1 ,compared to other teams

I beg to differ, even allowing for him being, from what I can make out, by far the youngest number one.

I think round Armadale, he’ll hold his own against every other team’s number one barring Oxford and Scunthorpe and away should give a good account of himself at all of the tracks.
He’s made great progress and Edinburgh will look after him. Watch out for @King Jamie finally changing his name :)

I think Dan T will be exactly what Edinburgh are looking for in a rider. Someone who can compete in Heats 13 & 15. It's something they lacked last season, a season which saw them come narrowly close to a place in the Championship final.

Dan Thompson will be absolutely fine next season. I think he will maintain his average at worst.

Exactly and who would not like to see what the best young Brit of his age can do?  Hopefully he'll get towards Brennan's level this year, I know I'd rather see a rider on the up, than one just hanging on to be a No1, just got to stay injury free as usual.
