Were Belle Vue just lucky that Bewley got injured before Holder ? If it had been the other way round and Sheffield had already snapped up Doyle, how would Belle Vue have dealt with that ? Who are you suggesting that Sheffield should have replaced Holder with ?

What happened was riders like Blodorn Cook and Tate got better… 

You then had everything fall into place with 2 teams , Ipswich and Northampton fielding last minute makeshift teams …… Lynn are just Lynn …. Sheffield lost their top man…… might have been interesting if Holder was injured before Bewley where Doyle went

All the cards fell into place for Belle vue in a season most fans of other clubs are bored with

Maybe next season Belle Vue might lost Kurtz , Bewley , Cook and Tate ….. and replace them with Lawson Musielek Nicholls and Juhl Pedersen and see how they find it

Can’t remember mine exactly but I remember we were in agreement at the start that the league looked to be in three parts. Northampton alone at the bottom due to them having a team of leftovers that even we left behind (with all due respect to them!), then a “meh” middle group of Lynn, Ipswich and Leicester, then a clear top two of Sheffield and Belle Vue. 
 

So even before a wheel was turned I think just about everyone predicted it was a two horse race which isn’t great really. 
 

Circumstances meant two teams were way behind everyone else and were never going to compete and when you only have a six team set up to start with, that obviously isn’t ideal. 
 

No matter what team you support, think we all agree that we want something much much better next season and beyond. Needs an extra team minimum, ideally two.
