No congratulations though to the club that did act , addressed their problem, kept up the entertainment home and away to the paying public and achieved what is looking like a successful season. Acting professional in a professional sport. Who’d have thought it. There’s always next season where hopefully it’ll be more meaningful for you. If your sorry clubs can be ars*d that is. Didn't act or couldn't act ? Were Belle Vue just lucky that Bewley got injured before Holder ? If it had been the other way round and Sheffield had already snapped up Doyle, how would Belle Vue have dealt with that ? Who are you suggesting that Sheffield should have replaced Holder with ?

What a moronic statement … you replaced your third heat leader with Oxfords number 6 What happened was riders like Blodorn Cook and Tate got better… You then had everything fall into place with 2 teams , Ipswich and Northampton fielding last minute makeshift teams …… Lynn are just Lynn …. Sheffield lost their top man…… might have been interesting if Holder was injured before Bewley where Doyle went All the cards fell into place for Belle vue in a season most fans of other clubs are bored with Maybe next season Belle Vue might lost Kurtz , Bewley , Cook and Tate ….. and replace them with Lawson Musielek Nicholls and Juhl Pedersen and see how they find it

The loss of Holder was obviously huge for them but BV have comfortably been the best side regardless. PK, Tate & Cairns were the question marks but all have been excellent and therein lies the difference I'd suggest. Can’t remember mine exactly but I remember we were in agreement at the start that the league looked to be in three parts. Northampton alone at the bottom due to them having a team of leftovers that even we left behind (with all due respect to them!), then a “meh” middle group of Lynn, Ipswich and Leicester, then a clear top two of Sheffield and Belle Vue. So even before a wheel was turned I think just about everyone predicted it was a two horse race which isn’t great really. Circumstances meant two teams were way behind everyone else and were never going to compete and when you only have a six team set up to start with, that obviously isn’t ideal. No matter what team you support, think we all agree that we want something much much better next season and beyond. Needs an extra team minimum, ideally two.

Didn’t. Was up to them to show the ambition and ££ to solve that problem as we all know money talks. Fricke won’t have signed for peanuts so they’ve obviously got the funds. It’s not my job to suggest anything regarding replacement riders. More like Stead’s
mikebv
This seasons "tin pot" league, of just six teams, certainly doesn't stack up against last seasons magnificently auspicious league of seven teams.. A league where the bottom two teams scored an excellent 17 points (combined), from their 48 matches, with seven tremendous victories in those forty eight matches being attained, four of those victories coming by one of them beating the other, meaning, therefore, that 10 of the 17 points they scored together came in those four matches.. And their combined total was just 13 points behind the fifth placed team, and just 26 behind the team who topped the league... A hugely impressive, prestigious league to win last season without any doubt, and one which will go down, I am sure, in the annals of history as one of the greatest ever, as the sport nears its centenary...

Every time the witches win something it’s obviously prestigious and challenging and to be congratulated. Thank god it very rarely happens..

Yeah, let’s not even try to pretend that this season is remotely similar to last shall we? I know you’ll do your best to, because your team is likely to win it and you want the same plaudits for it, but let’s not be silly here. There were four genuine contenders last season, unlike the two this year. Last year every one of the seven clubs had an equal opportunity to be competitive, if two of them failed to do that then tough, their problem. They had no disadvantages. This year, two clubs could be written off immediately through no fault of their own and BOTH clubs didn’t have the same opportunity as the four others in being competitive so it wasn’t a level playing field. That’s just stating facts. There was a winter of discontent many years ago with the infamous Coventry/Peterborough shenanigans, but that paled in to insignificance compared to last winter. It was a set of circumstances unlike anything we’ve seen before and it caused an awful lot of damage to the brand. No confirmed league, no fixtures, no season tickets, literally weeks before the usual season would normally start. A protracted takeover at Ipswich was confirmed on February 28th, Northampton were cobbled together a week later on March 5th. The whole situation was a complete farce, embarrassing for everyone concerned and this year was always supposed to be a sticking plaster, a season to push through in preparation for a more serious league set up in 2027. People are going to be pleased with what they hear on 2027 in due course, wait for the announcements.
