Leicester Lions 2026

Drew Kemp really has to get his head in the game this year because he's the key rider as to how the Lions season unfolds.

Sacrificed Fricke for a strength in depth 1-7 with a view to having a high scoring reserve and if Kemp doesn't perform then basically Leicester have sacrificed Fricke for nothing.

They had to sacrifice Fricke and Becker because of the points limit reduction and keep the majority of last season's team together. Kemp has got the gig ahead of Sedgmen and has publicly admitted he needs to pull his socks up. If he doesnt, Leicester will have other options

Personally I think he'll do the business this year.

Looking at the reserves, I don't see a reason as to why Kemp shouldn't be the strongest reserve in the League.

Leicester are my darkhorses.

He definitely has the ability, I know he gets a lot of flack with his attitude but he had a decent season last year in my opinion and deserves his place.

He failed to finish the equivalent of 3 complete matches due to his inability to count to 4!

And I expect what you are saying is that he would have scored a point in some of those races. The way the team is built he was always going to be in it and he did have some good performances during the season. I do agree with what your saying though as we had similar issues with him at Poole.

5 genuine retirements. Or when last throttling off ?

Doesn't really matter... it's for the Berwick topic, this is about Leicester and his performances for Leicester where he quit 12 times last season where the rest of the team combined numbered 11!

Dickson should impose a small fine on Kemp for not completing 4 laps (excluding genuine engine failures/falls/exclusions). That would change his attitude immediately.

have said for a while that points money (if it still exists for some) should be for finishing the race not starting it!
