I heard that but it has not been mentioned since.

Thanks for clarification. So obviously it’s a waiting game regards whether true or false. I personally like Steve as a rider, but I know he has not had the best of seasons. Fingers crossed he has a rethink during the closed season.

Announcement at 6:00 in regards to Team plans for 2026.

I wouldn’t expect them to make an announcement about continuing in the championship so think it must be that we are going into NDL which is a shame but understandable given the costs to ride run these daysĀ

Where is this announcement going to be made. I assume it’s Scunny’s Website?

Their Facebook page has the announcement of the announcement but didn't say where it will be made. I presume that it will be on their website and social media, and on the British Speedway website and social media not long after

Could it be the death knell?

Could be. One comment suggests they might go NDL only, one suggests Premiership (a rumour that someone floated on one of the threads here recently). Is it likely that they are announcing an announcement that they are staying in the Championship?

For the benefit of those not on Facebook it says "Tonight, at 6PM, there will be an announcement about Scunthorpe Scorpions 2026 plans"

To me that suggests that it will be about what league they are racing in rather than any signing plans, but we'll find out in a could of hoursĀ

Maybe they are going to save the premiership. If they do, thenĀ  good luck to them. Championship then needs 2 home and 2 away, can't be having less meetings than this season.

Think now having Oxford in one league then the 2h 2a makes a lot of sense and you would be having fixtures every week,as you would still have to fit in koc and BSN matches plus play offs.Ā
