Son of Shaleman
Jake Mulford to start at No 5 for Young Stars. Norwich lad. Excellent signing. Team building off to great start.
Diamonds85
What average would Mulford be on then? His previous NL average from 2024 or a converted Championship average? Simon Lambert number 1 then 🤣

Probably not but that's a consequence of raising the points limit unfortunately.
Fortythirtyeight
Will they be changing the team name if Lambert is no. 1 ?

The points limit is set far too high this season.

Sings4Speedway
Because the limit was too low the season before, therefore the rider averages are artificially inflated and now the demand is to raise it to keep riders in team places but then gets exploited because signing Mulford on 8.74 (probably less as i didn't take the brit reduction off before doubling his CL average) is less points used than Ace Pijper or Ben Trigger who had poorer seasons in the CL than Mulford did. I can see a lot of emerging riders being pushed out this year and teams made up of CL reserves and NL non improving journeymen.

And previously the British reduction wasn’t taken off before doubling. But now probably depends if that club needs an extra 0.20 or not 😂
Fortythirtyeight
So this is no longer a development league it’s just a league that pays slightly less than championship rates.
*JJ
On the other hand, the stand-alone teams need good riders to attract a good crowd.

Would have thought the development needs of all the others in a development league would take priority over 1 stand alone club.  The league has lost Belle Vue, Sheffield/Scunthorpe, and Plymouth by going professional rather than development.

No. But it's also not his fault he was a pawn in the cost cutting rising star game that has been used for a while now. Now he's not wanted at that level anymore he's been chewed up and spat out. Just another example of the left hand of the sport not knowing or caring about what the right hand is doing.
