When you see stocks at Odsal on youtube there doesn't seem anything like 10k watching Neil.

Was that number when the stocks returned and approaching similar numbers for big meetings, don't follow stocks, but most seem to get good crowds with fans paying to get in, also the drivers pay to enter, so it's a win win for stock promotions and another win if they own the stadium, like mildenhall and Ipswich and possibly others

Spedeworth do not own Ipswich, they lease the stadium and provide a sub lease to Ipswich Speedway. The bangers and stocks get good support and for some of the bigger meetings the numbers on the terraces are something that every speedway club would die for. Speed weekend is packed and the bonfire bonanza is a huge draw. Bank holidays get super crowds. Yes you are right it is a win win for those that run meetings. At Ipswich, you pay to park in addition to the entry price. Parking at speedway is free.

Take your point. If they start charging it is not going to go down well. I would rather watch Mildenhall if that charge is introduced. I use to avoid speedway meetings when the tendency was for six man teams with that guy using the pseudonym of R/R. Now they want to charge you to park, an exorbitant amount to get through the gate for which you get just fifteen minutes of entertainment, a programme that no longer fits the board bought twenty years ago and the current cost of a cup of tea use to buy you three pints of Watneys Red Barrel or two and a half pints of Double Diamond back in the early seventies. What is the world coming to, I need to get me coat and get back on the trolley bus to New Cross.

I think you are getting a few crossed wires here. The first meeting back at Odsal was under covid restrictions with a crowd limit of 4,000. This sold out as we had been waiting nearly 25 years to get back there. Later that year the F1 World Final was held with a crowd of possibly 10k, but that was not the norm. As I said in my other post, F1 meetings would pull crowds of 3-5k on average. The other meetings that don't involve F1s have much smaller attendances.

F1 drivers do not pay to enter, they actually receive start money and also each driver gets 3 additional mechanics/family in free.

The other formulas 'pay to race' but these are the meetings with the smaller crowds.

The stock car people have 20 years left on the lease, but the rugby club are doing all the can to put them off.The shale has been scraped off the track and dumped where the stock car pits used to be.I can't see any way motorsport will return to Odsal, unless the rugby club go ** up again.

The rugby club say it’s the stox that have pulled out not them kicking them out and they haven’t made the pitch bigger because they didn’t know the stox were pulling out, I think one side isn’t telling the truth I’m just not sure which side it is

While learning all sorts of rules/ regulations etc while helping to try and get cradley back, one thing we have found out is a football club will not get funding off the FA if they share the ground with another sport like speedway, I wonder if that’s the same for rugby

The latest statement from the Bulls chairman is utter bull !!

Yorstox have the F1 World Final this year - the biggest event on the stock car calendar. There is no way they would choose not to run it at the largest capacity stadium in the sport. One of the promoter's sons even raced at the 2025 WF meeting in September with the date and venue of the 2026 WF advertised on his aerofoil as being at Bradford.

He is implying that they only lifted the shale when Yorstox told them they were not planning to run there in 2026. This is untrue as I know for a fact that the shale was lifted in December. The first Yorstox knew of it was when someone who attended a funeral wake at the stadium for an ex-driver sent them a photo.

The F1 fixtures for 2026 were delayed in being published as Yorstox were suddenly left without a venue and they have had to arrange to hire other tracks in order to run their allotted meetings, including moving the WF to Northampton.

Probably the only reason they haven't completed the changes to the pitch is because they knew that Yorstox had a lease and would take legal action against them.
