Riders From New Zealand In British League ?

Recommended Posts

This type of thread never ceases to amaze me :)

So much knowledge out there.

I am thoroughly ashamed of my lack of knowledge of speedway.

Alan Rivett, even though he was (is) living in Queensland, he is a Kiwi and rode for New Zealand in the WTC.

Didn't Chris Penny (ex-leigh Adams mechanic) ride for a National League club in the 90's?

And for Frigbo, I believe that Clayton Isbel is not a Kiwi, but a West Australian!

Bob Andrews - no. He was born in north London.

Yes, but he became a naturalised Kiwi and represented them at Test level, famously winning the World Pairs.

I'm sure Craig Pendlebury was from NZ, rode for Halifax in the 80's

.....

Didn't Mikes Brother also ride, I'm thinking Darren but I might be wrong? I seem to recall that he took part in a World Championship round when the quailified New Zealand rider withdrew from the meeting. He was the only other person at the track that day with the right license and a bike, so he got into the meeting.
