  1. Past hour
  2. Actually, back in the day (70's 80's when there were many tracks and support was large and healthy) The majority of teams had mid-week race nights with only a small minority racing on Saturday and no major clubs rode on Sundays. By doing this all clubs were able to hold a meeting each week and if race nights clashed they went to their nominated alternative race night. Example, Leicester's race night was Tuesday with the alternative being Friday (might have been Thursday). However as Lions were the only Tuesday club the alternative was rarely used. Also worth noting that the age profile was also very mixed with many school kids attending either with or without parents many who actually had to use public transport to get to the meetings.
  3. They seem determined or it would have been called off by now, hopefully it will clear up and they can get the track sorted.
  4. Back in Crookes now and heavy rain like you o fear this will be called off again 5 mins later bloody suns out!! I think they will leave this as late as possible to see if they can get it on!
  5. Yes just saying Poole is not to blame on this occasion, we get enough flack, speedway is a shambles in general, as you say it is going down the pan with more clubs closing, I have been to many of the clubs that have closed. I thought Morris was brought in to help, he has done absolutely nothing.
  6. Correct. And it needs to start with the promoters -
  7. Top tier, seven clubs (Glasgow), five rider teams, no make weights, all over a 4.5pt average... Just 35 riders needed so plenty of replacements out there to cover injury and poor performance, so no guests needed.. Follow the Danish race night system of 14 heats.. Home and away once, with play offs.... The same seven teams also compete in the 2nd tier with six riders per team, riding on any night they wish, with the top riders included if they want to race over here... It may end up guestfest after guestfest, meaning it wouldn't be any different from now, the difference being it will be done on the best nights to get a crowd in... 14 teams, if Oxford only run Prem, one home and one away plus play offs. The top tier teams would have 19 matches, plus any play offs..
  8. Can't just think about one club blue, speedway as a sport is going down the pan, everybody needs to widen their outlook and consider the wellbeing of all clubs
  9. That's just past me further north and it absolutely belted it down for 10 minutes or so
  10. Looks like there's a weather cell heading towards Sheffield in the next hour, unless it rains itself out before it gets there I can see this going the same way as last weeks attempt at running it, in the current era this would normally have been called by now... I'm calling it now and am not going to bother.
  11. The difference is that there was a big downpour at about 6ish that was very localised, i am about 7 miles away and didn't even know it had rained, today has been showers with sunshine, so hopefully they can cope with that
  12. Don't think you can blame Poole for that, we finished our fixtures well within the schedule.
  13. Today
  14. What are the dates for the final? sorry if its been stated earlier on the thread.
  15. Lejonen will replace Woryna with a rider who is of similar capacity and who is also riding well in Poland.
