  1. Past hour
  2. I am hearing Workington are very much on Plan B hence the delay in announcing signings. Cook has definitely signed. I believe they have been let down by a danish rider to slot into number 2 and are searching for a replacement. unsure on number 6 position
  3. Going to put a lot of points on his average in 2026 is he? Only way he'd be a second string in one big league.
  4. It sounds like 2026 is going to be limping along as we were, not much more needs planning. Planning for 2027 should be well under way by now if the people in charge have any sincere interest in saving and reviving the sport here. The outcome of the AGM in January should be a long term plan, one that the fans are made fully aware of. It's easier to invest in another season of dross if there's a transparent plan for improvement in place and in full view for those who pay their way each week.
  5. He will be back by mid season imo. Hopefully back to berwick.
  6. Didn't drew kemp do this before, wanting to try Poland and not UK speedway, then came back to UK speedway, when the rides did not materialize in Poland ?
  7. Before turning 16 Will gave an understanding that he would sign for worky either junior team or main team, then his advisor got involved and said sign for Poole, whether said advisor is on commission who knows
  8. Today
  9. When did Cairns change his mind? And about what?
  10. I think Dan Thompson will do well enough at number 1. He has nothing to loose & he can gate. There maybe many others with more experience but i'm sure he is a match for anyone around his own circuit & has no fear away from home.
  11. Spot on 1valve my friend pretty much said as much it just makes the losses in his pub in theory lower but he would be way better off if he just owned his cash cow insurance business. Without straying to much into politics he mentioned when Reeves lowered the employer ni threshold in 2024 that alone cost the pub an extra 45k a year for zero benefit other than paying more to the tax man. So your burger, bun, salad and chips has to go up from £16 to £20 to cover it another reason pubs are going the same way as speedway tracks.
  12. Yes less tax is paid but ultimately the net profit (after tax) is also less because of the loss making company. In simple terms its actually good for a company to be paying tax (after correctly taking into account all of the available allowances) because that translates into a measurement of success.
  13. Trouble with that is, if Batchelor gets stuck behind traffic, we all no what he does, Cooper would be late for the meeting
  14. My Star w / e 20th Dec arrived today, think I'm up to date now so all is well 😉. I also feel for Pinegen, always feel a bit guilty asking for replacements (copies missing after 3 days never turn up) but they are ok about it, apologise & send duplicates straight away. I've sometimes boiught another copy from likes of Asda / Tesco / TJ Jones / whoever but often there are none on the shelves, usually at the same time as my '3 days late & gon foreva' copies. Hmmm....
  15. You are correct. If company X makes a profit of 100 and company Z loses 50 then a person owning both companies would be worse off than if he only owned company X. He also doesn't get to offset the total loss of 50 in his tax return only the taxable value. So say he is due to pay 35% on his 100 profit i.e 35 he would be able to offset his loss of 50 x.35 = 17.50 giving a final tax calculation of 35 - 17.5 meaning he would pay only 17.5 instead of 35. So If he had one company that made 100 profit, after tax he would make 65 net. If he owned to companies, one making 100 and one losing 50 he would make 32.50 net Also worth considering that if a person owns two companies then they must be declared in the eyes of the taxman as being a part of a holding group or that a single person owns both.
  16. That's why I suggested him as a short term back-up option. Otherwise I would have said he would be a good signing full time. If he wanted to ride in the Champ only other option would be Scunthorpe, but would be tough to fit him in alongside Pickering. Credit to him for being brave enough to leave Champ behind & try to progress as a rider, if that's his plan, but kinda feel one season too early for that.
  17. May change his mind like cairns did last year 🙃 also could share a lift with batch to get to worky 😃
  18. Hoping there’ll be a Christmas present before Thursday, ie another rider.
  19. Allsvenskan calender is out: https://www.facebook.com/photo?fbid=861878446591365&set=a.128800456565838
  20. Read on here he has turned down the 2 offers, what they consisted of we don't know. I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't come back from his holiday and pick his toys back up, and find a way to get through 26.I hope so anyway.
  21. I agree, but they are finding it hard enough to sort out 2026 at this point, let alone 2027!
  22. It warrants a big build up as no one has any idea who it might be
  23. Welcome Cooper Rushen. Great enthusiastic young racer whom I would have loved to have seen in Worky Comets kevlars next season. Good luck for 2026 Coops. The Poole fans are indeed lucky to have two of the hottest young prospects in their team for 2026.
  24. Any chance you can explain to me your end game with your endless posting about how crap in your eyes one big league would be? Every time we go back and forth you agree with me that big changes are needed, you’ve even agreed with me that Ipswich don’t do everything right and that the top league isn’t sustainable as it is? We know you have disdain for the championship and the quality of it and of course Poole and Glasgow for not bowing down to Chris Louis and moving up a league. But I really don’t get your end game other than to act entitled and make on that you are cleverer than everyone else for thinking you’ve got the future of the sport sussed out?
