Foxes vs Lions PL R1 21/05/2026 19:30
mikebv replied to IainB's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
But.... It is an amateur sport, at least off track... The promoters are not in the entertainment business, they are not marketeers, and definitely not in it "for the money".... They do their best given their limited capabilities to just "provide sone Speedway".... Getting "professionals" in costs money, which means it won't happen.. People have too high an expectation of what the majority of promotes can deliver... You only have to see how they run the sport to know they don't have the required skill set to deliver what some fans see as "basic".... They do their best, and put their money in, and without them there wouldn't be any start time to moan about.... -
I’m now moving on to pastures new. Enjoy the forum like I have done. Bye for good.👍

People like to follow a winning team. You cannot keep using the old faithfuls the bloke is living in the 70s and 80s when that could be done then

Several posts now appearing on social media( from abroad) basically saying that HBO are saying that they never had the rights to show this meeting. So i think we can now all assume that the SON 2 is not being filmed. Lets all enjoy the updates. There is a chance of course that one of the punters present today will stream some or all of the races on social media.

Stoney & Nick The Lips NICE Run Out

Did they really? I thought the majority wanted to keep Newman. Most of the ones who wanted Gilkes back, seemed to suggest doing it because of morals, rather than Gilkes being stronger? I suppose on Gilkes FB Poole were getting flak, but that's not really unbiased opinions.

A lot of your replies to people are short and snappy, but believe it or not, there actually is a whole world outside of watching every single Speedway meeting that is televised anywhere on Earth. You have no sympathy whatsoever for Speedway fans that have paid a subscription to HBO Max to watch their Speedway output. Sadly it’s one big joke to you.

I agree, you could put these posts down to that today. Heaven forbid anyone sees the humorous side in you giving an HBO customer service supervisor a proper talking to over their schedule. A lot of your replies to people are short and snappy, but believe it or not, there actually is a whole world outside of watching every single Speedway meeting that is televised anywhere on Earth.

I think that’s unfair. His ambition is to make money running a speedway team and when you look at income vs expenditure, I’m sure he does that. It’s the other teams in the league that are crazy, spending money in order to put out decent teams and good entertainment for their fans, the fools
