Like you say same every year. Easy solution strict time limit on rain offs replays ( even if it means missing riders).Teams are now racing about 14 fixtures in 6 months it’s pathetic they can’t fit them in.IMO.

2025 Torun SON and SON 2
Mr. Clemens replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Because they want us to see what they want us to see not what we want to see. There are those who say, if you don't like it don't watch it. Therefore they don't watch it and they don't come back. -
Will fit in well at Poole then 🤪

They have completely ruined the world cup week format. back in the day it was a brilliant spectacle , even if the racing was gate and go it was still exciting and well attended. this new format is absolutely pathetic. why oh why do they change things that arent broken but any thing broken they do nothing about? -

Almost certain there will be a big crowd Saturday and a big crowd in Warsaw next year. Both SoN eents at Manchester were superb. Love WTC, Love SoN (except for the terrible name) For those complaining, there are a 1000 other channels you can switch over to... -
Often happens the best teams play in cup and playoffs so there is regular fixture congestion

What will 2026 UK speedway bring?
Ben91 replied to Lionsman66's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
There aren’t insufficient riders. There are insufficient riders of sufficient quality. Granted it all amounts to the same thing, bad news for British Speedway and its fans. That lack of “good enough” riders is at least partly a result of the doubling up doors being jammed wide open for all about 15 years ago. A short sighted decision at the time that is now coming home to roost. At that point there were more than enough riders to go round. Rider power probably drove that one. Recently it’s been exasperated by the tighter visa rules post-Brexit it seems. It’s definitely a case of a best case scenario out of the current mess. One league seems to me to be more of a ballsy attempt to give the sport a long term future, not without massive potential pitfalls. The standard would drop, it’s unavoidable, but it could be the only way to repopulate the domestic rider pool in the mid to long term. Otherwise we end up losing clubs annually, dropping to teams of five (horrible idea) and before long there’s nothing left. Carrying on as we are seems to be agreeing to continue with death by a thousand cuts. It would be just another sticking plaster. -
Weirdo comes to mind

What will 2026 UK speedway bring?
1 valve replied to Lionsman66's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Heat leaders & second strings make up Five riders per team and to put it simply there are not enough of those riders available in the uk to support that format across one league. The maximum teams that could support your suggestion would be eight (just) and there would be the need to adhere to fixed race nights of Monday & Thursday. -

JD said at the presentation night Fraser had missed some weekend Comets meetings to ride in Poland and wasn’t getting paid. The whole situation all seems very strange, James said in a trackside interview at the start of the season Fraser was a very different character to the rest of the Aussies in the team. Did wonder what was meant by that at the time.

Hawk127 replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
The lack of supporters in the stadium will do nothing to raise any interest in the competition and frankly putting this on live t v is an embarrassment. Anyone who is foolish enough to have paid TNT or whoever it is who expects to be paid for that live performance will be well disappointed. The new promotional team who have taken over from WBD have a lot to do to generate a modicum of interest let alone achieve a level of interest that provides a return on the investment. -

Well, if nobody bid to stage these events the FIM would have to rethink -

They thought they would get a big crowd. Problem is the FIM (or whoever) have blunted the competitive edge of these world championships to the point of making them meaningless. -
