  2. That's why a highlights package would be the best course of action.. Using BSN and the clubs own streams.. ITV could pay them to use their footage which keeps their own production costs minimal... And those having their footage used get credited on screen so hopefully pick up more business... All the best races of the week cherry picked with studio discussion around that weeks racing with a preview of the following week.. Short, sharp coverage, with the odd "live" meeting at play off time..
  3. It says Cairns has graduated as well. Guess the rumour the r/s limit is dropping to 3.50 could be true
  4. So if Coops has opted out of being a 'number 7' then effectively we are looking at Scott Harrison Cairns Foord Loftus Ingram Pjiper
  5. Don’t try and run before you can walk! Sort out the product first then worry about trying to get TV deals. Put the current product out on mainstream TV and all you will do is confirm the publics perception that first out of the start always wins and if you go you get covered in dust.
  6. Lets at least see the final teams and line up's before we put the boot in.
  7. if rob rides over here it should be no where other than kings lynn, 1000%
  8. I can see a better team than last season but not a 1-7 that's a threat to Belle Vue, Ipswich and Sheffield tbh. I wouldn't be surprised if Z. Cook or Lawson were to be part of the Foxes 1-7 either tbh.
  9. There are just too many different wants and desires from all angles which obviously won't please everyone. Personally, I think you need to make the championship weaker, and I think to an extent you do away with the NDL as a league competition, if you weaken the championship current NDL clubs could enter it or stage individual meetings. By making it weaker I am suggesting once you hit a 7+ average over a 2 year period you become ineligible so currently you take out these from the championship: Nick Morris Kye Thomson Dan Thompson Leon Flint Kyle Howarth Chris Harris Sam Masters Erik Riss Zach Cook Richard Lawson Danny King Josh Pickering Jonas Jeppesen say on average its 2 per side, you weaken the championship so that its 2 up from the NDL - league is still a reasonable standard but should help the development of riders better.... With the NDL - I would encourage more individual racing i.e. British Youth Championship 125/250/500 U19, U24 championships, if an NDL track can't move up they host the majority of these championship rounds with selected other venues hosting a handful - more solo meetings etc. for youngsters they don't necessarily need to be in a team environment, race for themselves and development themselves first and foremost. The only other alternative is to split the leagues completely into two separate championships, probably more like that now, call one the British League - call the other a National League. Try to encourage 8 sides to participate in the British League, one home, one away, KO CUP only so minimum of 8 home meetings possibly 12 maximum, all ridden on Mondays National League - as a separate competition takes place on the clubs selected race night, and those in the British League can enter a side, if you end up with 12 sides home and away once, KO CUP etc.
  10. Rules out Robert Lambert then. Emil Sayfutdinov????
  11. Looks like 2027 is on course to be an even worse season than 2026!
  12. You chose to only the not where Cooks back wheel then throws up mud from the centre green. It would still be debated if it was anyone else. And Poole 100% won the title with the help of a bad refereeing decision. Will Cairns was blatantly warming his back tyre and admitted that he had done so, so should have been excluded in that race. Poole were the strongest team in the league but Scunthorpe should have been champions.
  13. I think Phil Morris is hinting at Eastbourne in the PREM with Vinnie Foord as the U21/Rising Star as it makes all the sense in the world if my info is correct on someone being part of the consortium As for Cairns, Isn't the 2027 ruling for current PREM Rising Star's with GSA's at 3.00 or under only to be part of the 2027 British U21/Rising Star scheme? I'm not on board with this ruling at all and some teams aren't going to be competitive because of it.
  14. Today
  15. I’ve just read it. Apparently everyone is now happy that the rule is that, if a rider’s wheels CROSS the white line, then that would normally lead to disqualification. And, despite multiple views from photographers and videographers, there is no evidence that Cook CROSSED the white line. Well, that’s everyone expect the BSPL chairman who is making up his own rule that even touching the line should lead to disqualification. Where has this man been? I’m sure many people, like me, have watched many slow motion replays where there’s been dust coming from a back wheel but zooming in has shown the tyre on the line not over it. Indeed, wasn’t that Darcy Ward’s favoured method of passing? The Poole bashers have been out in force on this one but the Poole management, unlike too many others, have done the right thing by not adding fuel to this unnecessary fire. I am convinced that, had it been Josh Pickering not Zach Cook whose wheel had gone on to the line, nothing would have been said. The statement from Neil Vatcher declines to say who wrote the SCB comment which is disappointing - the SCB should have manned up on this, especially as they so quickly threw Paul Carrington under the proverbial bus. At the end of the day, Poole are worthy champions having out-ridden everyone all season and provided some exciting meetings on their travels. And Scunthorpe are unexpectedly for many, me included, runners up. It’s over, folks, so on to 2027.
  16. explains why there is a battle for cairns, his low average comes in useful
  17. Unlike many, I liked the RS scheme. But think the changes they are making will make it far worse. Like you say, more likely to mean you sung riders well out of their depth, especially if the league is stronger. Could get a 3.5 Champ rider gaining a Prem spot because he's 20, but a 5.5 Champ rider missing out because he's 21 already! Don't think they've thought this through at all, at least the consequences.
  18. Or Becker at four if he can be tempted back to the UK.
  19. So this is based on 38 for 6? International u21 avg. Will count towards it and the british "Rising Star" spot wont as before?
  20. The U21 thing I found a bit confusing also. He said we’re already “half way there” because we already have a rising star scheme. Those rising stars now have to be under 21 riders. He goes on to explain about the 25% rule which will still be active. Cooper Rushen won’t get it because he chose to opt out of the scheme this year and ride at 6, but the likes of Edwards and Joe Thompson will do. The confusing part was William Cairns. “Will Cairns also gets 25% off his average, as he comes out of the rising star scheme” Why is Cairns out of the R/S scheme? He obviously fits the U21 criteria, and he has a GSA of 3.77. The only thing that makes any sense is that Morris knows like Rushen this year, he’s now opted out and is lining up as someone’s other U21 rider at number 6 on a 3.00 average 🤷🏼‍♂️ He goes on to say new riders are added to the list including Ace Pijper and Vinnie Foord. Theres going to be such a huge disparity in ability between the top end of teams and the bottom unfortunately. Some clubs are going to have to pick up a rising star that’s going to be out of their depth. Not sure on this to be honest.
  21. Having just read Phil Morris’ interview in the Speedway Star, has he accidentally given away that we’ll have a 7 team League next season rather than 6? Morris admits Britain needs two race days. He said: "The reason Britain has two slot days is because we do a hell of a lot more fixtures per team than Sweden, Denmark and Poland. They all do 14 meetings. We do 24 per team. There's the difference straight away. "We also have progression in a cup competition and league play-offs. Riders could do six extra meetings across both, so it rises to a possible 30. In Poland, the most they could have is 18 if they made the play-off final." He’s used 24 meetings as the base minimum presumably for League meetings, we had 20 this year. 24 League meetings is obviously home and away twice in a 7 team league. Who’s team number 7? Is it Eastbourne, or have they got someone to move up..
  22. 1 Jason Doyle 8.62 2 Sam Masters 5.96 3 Kye Thomson 6.13 4 7.51 5 Jaimon Lidsey 6.34 6 Mitchell McDiarmid 3.44 7 Luke Harrison RS Could it be a very Aussie looking line up for Northampton? 7.51 for the final rider. NKI, Danny King or Zach Cook would be the best looking options for that final spot imo. First season has been a decent success for them, I hope it continues into 2027.

  24. Witches target new number one IPSWICH chairman Richard Coleman has his sights set on bringing a stellar No. 1 to Foxhall for 2027. The Tru7 Group Witches only confirmed their entry into this year's ROWE Motor Oil Premiership on March 1, meaning their team-building options were limited, with riders signing elsewhere or committing to other European leagues by this point. The 2025 champions opted for a strength-in-depth side, which saw British racers Tom Brennan and later Richard Lawson take on the No. 1 position. While both gave their all in a testing role, Coleman is keen to bring an international big-hitter to Suffolk for 2027 as Witches bid to regain the Premiership trophy. He said: "I think it's super-important. If you look at any side, you need to try and win all your home meetings and pick up what you can on the road. That's where a No. 1 can make a big difference. They can get those big scores when you are away. "Tom came back from an injury. Asking him to be a No. 1 was probably a little unfair on him. He planned to be doing a lot more riding than he did in Poland and Sweden. When you are out of nick, you need to be on your bike and Tom didn't get enough seat time when he needed it. "We didn't have the luxury of choice regarding a No. 1 rider last winter. But for 2027, we have no excuses." Coleman is unable to reveal any names of his targets at this stage but hopes to have some news in a few weeks. He said: "I can't say too much at the moment. We have two riders confirmed and we have contracts out with three others. Then we have dialogue ongoing over the other positions. "At the moment, I'm confident we can put out a good side. Nothing is done until it is done. We have had a mixture of conversations that will come to light after the AGM and the end-of-season dinner on November 6."
  25. As, indeed, used to be the case in speedway. Belle Vue before the War; Wembley late 40s/early 50s; Wimbledon mid 50s/early 60s
