Massive credit to Ben Barker That performance with the injuries he had would be up there with some of the old Peter Collins and Kenny Carter feats of the past. Barker has been his own worst enemy many times in the past but that natural ability has always been there! Plymouth, as I wrote about last week seem to have found a bit of a "magic formula" entertainment / action and a really positive vibe. If they could somehow retain Scotty for next season and get a full time no1 then they can be a real play off threat. No one works harder than Mark Phillips, he deserves MASSIVE CREDIT. Finally my take on Heat 3...seen footage from a guy on that bend, when you slow it down frame by frame it clearly shows Kerr clips Thompson on way in, that just wobbles Thompson in to back wheel of Lasse just as Kerr wipes Lasse out. I don't think it was dirty, but hard racing and whilst a broken arm for Lasse is desperate bad luck, it could have been far worse...

I have only so far put guaranteed rider list. Of course when riders are guaranteed to be in it they will be added to my OP. -
And then if Thomsen finishes top 7 Vaculik will be promoted to SGP, and if Vaculik also gets top 7 Cierniak will be promoted to SGP đđđ but then it doesnât finish there⌠because Woryna, Madsen, MJJ and Lebedevs are all in with a shout for SEC but I would assume Dudek will win it! If however, Dudek comes second, itâs noted on SGP page it wonât go down to the next person who isnât in the SGP, it will be a fourth wild card, which I would like to think would be given to Dudek anyway. The line-up is completed by three permanent wild cards selected by the SGP Commission. If the SEC winner finishes inside the Speedway GP top seven, four permanent wild cards will be chosen.

As Ben Barker said after the meeting, it had everything, thrills, spills and good racing. Congratulations to Plymouth for defying the odds and winning on the night. Heroic performance by Barker and Scott unlucky to break down on the Barker tactical. They could have got the aggregate too if that had not happened. Well done all at Plymouth, Gary May is a great manager who makes the right decisions. After that performance I can see Barker getting a few guest bookings. -

This is an interesting point and I understand what you're saying but we shouldn't forget... Plymouth only led in the meeting at the end of Heat 15. The Pirates kept them at bay all night until the final two races when Garry just instilled a mentality in the four rides he used to create something out of nothing. -

Well done to Plymouth last night and especially Ben Barker, fantastic meeting. The inconsistency continues for Poole time and time again and that will be our downfall. Building next years team based on last nights performance we really need to have a clear out, some riders have got stale and need to move on. -

For all the talk about last night, the one point everyone is missing is that Poole are in play offs and Plymouth still finish near bottom of league. - Today

Let's all take a breath and look at the bigger picture here. After years and years of ridicule and belittling towards British Speedway and it's structure, this week we've seen one of the best two legged fixtures in recent times in the second tier, culminating in a breath taking conclusion last night. Where do you start? First of all, massive credit and thank you to all the riders involved last night. They were a credit to their sport. That was fully committed, no fear speedway from everybody. I'd like to think I speak for everyone in sending our best wishes to Lasse Fredriksen who it sounds like will now miss the rest of the season. I was on commentary on Gladiators TV last night and that Heat 3 crash was perhaps the worst I've seen at Plymouth. To the crowd, what a night for Plymouth sport and British Speedway. They were crammed into the track and what an atmosphere. This goes for both set of supporters and it was a knowledgeable and respectful crowd. Everybody could see and appreciate the efforts the riders were going too for our entertainment. The noise at the end of the meeting with Plymouth getting on top was incredible. Plymouth is very quickly becoming a very difficult place for opposition teams with the atmosphere that's being created. Finally, to Mark Phillips and the whole Plymouth track staff. I take my hat off to them all. Not only was the race surface in great shape last night but their hard work to get the fences fixed not once but twice was astounding. They were rewarded with a fitting finale and I was glad that the stadium announcer got a warm round of applause going for them at the end of the night. Congratulations to the Pirates who take the bonus point and all the best for the rest of the season but haven't they been pushed all the way by a battered and bruised Plymouth?! I do think it's a shame the direction this forum is heading in these days with a lot of the unnecessary jibing that goes on from all angles. Speedway is a sport that is in desperate need of some help and assistance in this country and is facing some bleak times. Everyone, regardless of your personal allegiances or differences should always be supporting those putting on the show and doing what they can to boost the sport. Plymouth as a club is changing before our very eyes. The city is really getting behind the Gladiators and the club are doing all they can to provide a fantastic night out for all the family. It was great to see the fancy dress last night and the kids race being so popular. Heart warming to see the amount of Plymouth Argyle shirts on show, with people taking advantage of the season ticket offer. I've already had one message on Argyle's forum from someone who attended for the first time with his family last night and despite the long night, they loved every moment of it and will be back. We shouldn't be sat on this thread today attacking one another, we should be grateful and proud of the effort and character we saw from 14 riders last night who put on a terrific advert for British Speedway and showed if you do things right in promoting the event, if you have all the necessary safety precautions in place it can be a heck of a spectacle. Thank you Gladiators, Thank you Pirates - What a night! -

How many riders have borrowed Hooky's engine this season, is it like the R/R tyre that gets passed around the team? -

Everything that is wrong with this forum is on this thread. Plymouth win and beat a very good Poole side and all people can do is moan about the number one not being there or something else. you could argue that Lewis Kerr could have easily got up off the track when Plymouth on a 5-1, could argue then in the reruns that cairns didnât allow any room for Spencer. Nicholls was on a 5-1 and bike gave up, Bowtell was trying just a bit to hard was on a 5-1 and slide off in heat 8. Lawson was his usual great self around the arena and set the track record in heat 1 apart from that it was pretty much nothingness from the rest of the pirates. To be fair i thought Tobias tried hard but the rest were poor which is unlike them normally but seems the norm of late, they will need to improve lots to win the play offs. I donât think they can make any changes but it wouldnât surprise me if they did. Plymouth are currently on a roll and the feel good factor around the place is evident with the crowd that are coming and the buzz that is on social media on Facebook etc. Think people just like sniping at Plymouth for the sake off it and it seems to have the opposite effect on what these people want. -

Apparently Batch blew an engine before heat 15 at Glasgow friday night. I heard his second engine wasn't as strong so he was using an engine borrowed from Hooky against the Cheetahs. He seemed to find a better setup for heat 13 after which I half expected to see him with Antti in 15. Jye was deserving of 15 though after a strong performance. -
No... he also missed the fixture at Poole last Wednesday
