  1. Past hour
  2. Right, let’s get away from the nonsense. Serious question. Which will have more passing in 2026; Wimborne Road or the queue at Poole Post Office? Disclaimer: This was not a serious question. All the best for 2026 Pirates. Looking forward to another competitive season.
  3. Not sure if Ritchings average fits, will become a lot clearer tomorrow when Oxford announce there final 2 riders
  4. Realistically, nope. Major surprise if it wasn't them. But for the sake of debate...if it's not Cook, there are not many around on that average, meaning that Pirates either go a couple of points under the limit with Rushen or sign a 5ish pointer and a 4ish pointer instead. If they have Cook but not Rushen then maybe Daryl Ritchings gets another shot at 7? He did better than expected last year.
  5. Until he is chucked of this forum for good, this is going to be the norm
  6. Possibly they don't pay more per point or per mile than other clubs. But have extras like free accommodation, free workshop use and help finding sponsorship. So the cash from the promotion is the same as others, as they claim, but the overall package they organise is better. They also don't hang about, I heard more than 6 months ago that Rushen had agreed to ride for Poole in 2026. I'm not sure how long Wessex Marine have sponsored Rushen but that is likely to play a part in where he ends up given that they also sponsor the Pirates.
  7. yes lets get back to slagging off the track 😁
  8. Are people in the gambling world looking at something to replace the revenue stream from greyhounds (which are down to 19 tracks in England and face the prospect of a total ban on the sport)

  10. Will the next drip feed of the 2026 team be MPT?
  11. Wholeheartedly agree. Let’s stop the abuse, insults and name-calling and get this topic back on track.
  12. Today
  13. some people think bingo is a great night out. 😁
  14. What would a "gambling deal" consist of though? There's no wide spread media exposure, that we know of, and there's only 14 venues for the sport and a many of them are in population back waters. It makes no commercial sense, in the current Speedway climate, that I can see, for a major betting company to be involved.
  15. Well said. Couldn't agree more. So tonight, it's going to be either Zach Cook or Cooper Rushen right? Any other contenders?
  16. I think @Fromafar was making a general comment about the state of this thread over the past 5/6 pages. Not a specific attack on yourself. It really would be nice to move on and focus on speedway, but it requires somebody to just let it go (please, anybody). Let's hope tonight's signing announcement does just that.
  17. I an sure something very similar was put on here around 10 years ago, and maybe longer.... Those running Speedway in the UK had a different idea, and, subsequently, used that different idea each season since.... Which hasn't ever included ploughing its own furrow, and being in charge of its own destiny, at whatever level initially it would have meant... When it really should have....
  18. To give old Kelv his due when he rode for Arena at the back end of his career despite having a bad hip etc we was very effective, suspect he might just be too old now!
  19. It’s bizarre. Imagine your neighbour knocking your door and saying ”two years ago, your tree blocked the sun coming into my garden” and when you answer him, your other neighbour tells you ”give it a rest”.😂 That’s exactly what @Fromafar has just done. Can someone please make it make sense?
  20. Have to say I can't see that myself but there you go. Of course Charles Wright possibly has a different view but Brennan comes across really well and gives his all, to my mind nothing to even compare with Perdersen (who fo course was going to be a Tiger in 2020!)
  21. There are similarities, for me, of going to watch basketball in this country. I sometimes go on a Friday night and watch a game and it's a great night out. Lots of entertainment, good atmosphere (even family friendly), and competitive action. I'd never really considered it when I first start attending, but I genuinely have zero reference as to how good/bad these players are. I'm aware that it isn't the NBA, but otherwise it could be anywhere between the level below that and Sunday League. My mates tell me that apparently there's better basketball in Eastern Europe but I'm not bothered, I just enjoy a good night out. This is not to say that British Basketball hasn't had its own issues, they've had more than enough. However, the clubs have taken some of the good stuff that the NBA does and applied it to their own product at the level they're at. The best route for British speedway to take is something very similar. Work out what's best for British speedway and go from there. As you say, nothing wrong with picking up some things Poland does, but we won't outmuscle them on virtually any level. Obviously, the kicker with taking this approach is you'd need a solid plan, the right ideas, some joined up thinking and to get the word out there. None of which I'd have faith in the current set of promoters to do.
  22. Agree, the Poole mafia gang up, call names etc but cry when it doesn’t work.
  23. How do you even respond to this level of stupidity?😂 Someone else randomly resurrects a two year-old discussion, but I’ve to give it a rest? Don’t quote me again unless you’re willing to make sense.
