Smith done well at Ashfield on Friday night, to be fair. Hodder and Perry have been fantastic this season. We literally couldn’t ask for more. Two teenagers with that little bit more pressure on their young shoulders due to our team building approach, but they’ve literally given 110% in every single race. They’ve had some tough meetings - inevitably so - but meetings like last night’s shows how resilient they both are. -

Some great on point observations there mikebv. Getting more water into the track pre meeting is something we definitely need to be working on doing especially in the absence of rain in the 12 -24 hours before the meeting. The signage which has just gone up this week looks great. This can only help keep Workington Speedway visible and increase conscious awareness that it does actually exist as a credible sporting family option. Continuously putting the supporter experience right at the top of the clubs priorities in all aspects has to be the only way forward. How well the club is doing on this should be gauged periodically through feedback surveys. -

Quite the opposite , good win for Redcar better team on the day bad day at the office for Worky we live to race another day onwards and upwards.🙂 -
Getting a guest booking in the main body of the Glasgow team after a month in professional speedway is remarkable progress. I don’t care if he scores 2 or 200 points; that’s incredible development. I think his biggest test will come when he inevitably reaches the main body of Poole’s side. We’ll hopefully see Boughen back next season two, so British speedway can have the pleasure of hosting two of its highest potential young men.

Especially with Glasgow having the weakest reserves (on paper) in the league. Both have upped their averages, but would still look like Tigers weak link. Last night was a impressive by them, Tigers fans will be delighted, but Bandits fans would've been expecting Smith to have the better of them. While play-offs are still possible, I'd give Trigger a shot. -
That is how it is supposed to work but according to Catalan no one does that anymore and just asks the rider. I suppose in this case it doesn't matter as Danny Ford has said in the past he would never stop a Poole rider from taking a guest booking.

Ben Barker’s a top man. He’s the sort of character you need in the pits with a proper selfless mentality. I find his interviews on BSN so insightful. At the CLRC, he was telling the cameras how he had no track intel because he was the only Plymouth rider there, so the only rider without teammate to share track tips with. He guested for us in the home defeat to Poole earlier in the season and gave it 100%; something you seldom see in a guest.

Prediction of 2025 Championship league
szkocjasid replied to Bitza's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
It can change each week, but Workington already had 2 points deducted, so we're favourites for a top 4 spot (at least in my opinion) so a home defeat was very costly for them. I rated Berwick's chances higher, especially since their changes & a great result at Glasgow, all undone by dropping points at home in the return leg. All the teams bar Scunthorpe & Plymouth can still make the play-offs, but I feel a gap has appeared below the "top 4" & challengers. -
Would Glasgow have had to ask for Poole’s permission to book Cairns last night, then ask the rider? How do guest bookings work?
-
As there are at many tracks not just Poole. It seems to go through stages of being bumpy then smooth then bumpy, it is usually better later in the season. Agree it used to produce better racing than it does now, the same can be said for many tracks particularly Kings Lynn.which used to produce fantastic racing years ago.

Good back to back wins for the bears and we always like our visits to workington. Took a wrong turning and got lost so was pleased to find the posters near the track lol. -
It doesn't. Ask Oxford.

I’m always surprised when I see criticism of Shielfield. It’s a track I love visiting and have done for 30+ years. I bought last night’s stream and thought it was a really good meeting; two teams battling it out and the racing amplified as the meeting went on. From a non-technical perspective, I’ve always felt like it’s a proper racers track. To navigate those long straights to your advantage and utilise that banking on the third and fourth bends takes a technically capable rider. All the best to the Bandits for the rest of the season. Once Morris arrives and Jeppesen familiarises himself with the track, I hope to see Berwick in the play-offs. -

Bought the stream for last night. Considering the absentees i thought it was a good meeting for the neutral. Both teams locked tight and some tasty races paticularly later on. I've read a few comments about track prep from last night? Thought the track was fine, nice to see a few lines out there for the riders to use. I've certainly seen a lot worse elsewhere this season. -

Will try and pop up between now and the seasons end. Reference the racing i found the same last week. However as a set up Workington is really up there. -

Trigger in for Smith please. Shocking from Smith last night, I did fear Jeppesen might not take to Shielfield, he looked to be getting better as the meeting went on, hopefully the poor track hasn’t put him off. Special mention to Max Perry, he rides Shielfield very well for a two pointer and has been the ‘match winner’ twice this season. Great move by Howarth in the super heat to win it, but it felt inevitable. - Today
