Why does everyone seem to hate Woffinden on here?

The Riders Law!
-
Rhymes with Clark. First syllable of surname rhymes with Nob.
-
Riders have to double up... It's the law....
-
I wonder if any club from Belle Vue, Leicester, Kings Lynn,& Sheffield are regretting being involved in this shambles. It must be having a big financial effect on all of them. Trouble is they are deep in it now.
-
A good, informative, interview (again), in the Speedway Star with Matt Ford and he mentions Vaculik and his injury inducing, short lived, stint at Leicester, which cost him thousands as he had to pay back his signing on money to his Polish team... A big risk for riders to come over here when you are talking high five, and sometimes six, figure signing on fees that have a "pay back clause" if injured riding in other leagues...
-
Im going to say it.....Simpsons NL average is way to high for this to be considered a decent signing, if he had come in on his Trophy average that would be different but 8.42 is a massive number......he will probably do alright at Lynn if its deep with his Grasstrack background but technical tracks are going to be a big challenge
-
That's what I'm sensing as well tbh. I was confident in regards to the Team but after last night's statement about only 5 Riders being signed has me doubting the strength of the Team tbh.
-
Accepting that the Premier league is going ahead in 2026, I'd like Martin Vaculik to be in the league. Ive no idea what his availability might be, but he seems quite a charismatic and good guy, and may have unfinished business from his previous short-lived attempt with Leicester

Scunthorpe 2026
Sings4Speedway replied to Youhave2minutes's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Surely its trying to compare apple cider and Perry....... One was tweaking a rule post season starting the other squeezing one in pre season with the caveat that it will be taken out if it doesn't suit Scunthorpe at the end of the year either way both are nonsense. - Today

One that fits the Team Building by the look of it.🤔👌 -

If you get paid, is that not classed as professional? If it's amateur, you don't get paid?
-
With some of these teams being guessed at, I forsee a thousand off last year's gates pretty quickly

I can see the headline now,,,, From Champs to Chumps

Scunthorpe 2026

The "professional" bit is no doubt the defence we'll hear (if we hear anything). It's also strange that the rule was brought in, yet how many riders have made comebacks? I think it's a good idea, but you'd have thought they'd heard whispers of at least a handful of riders wanting to come back. Seems not. -
I agree.
-
Since it might be a couple of weeks before we know the Ipswich team (and whether Northampton is happening), we might as well start this now. using our best educated guesses. You're welcome to come back and edit your predictions before the season starts. I'll go:- 1. Belle Vue 2. Sheffield 3. King's Lynn 4. Leicester 5. Ipswich 6. Northampton

Which is a bit different to how they announced it in the press release which was: RETURNING RIDERS (CHAMPIONSHIP ONLY): If a professional British rider has not ridden in previous seasons, they may apply for a reduction on their previous Championship average of 8 per cent for each year missing. It is hoped that this will provide some assistance to riders who have taken time out of the sport, and who are now once again seeking team places. The way they’ve said it sounds like it it’s for riders looking to make a comeback in the sport not guys who’ve still rode and decided not to ride championship. So it seems like the rule has been written in a way that it can be abused, which in this case clearly is.
-
If it is then they won’t be taking much this year in terms of gate receipts that’s for sure 😂
-
No. Why didn’t they do that in the previous two seasons then? Doyle has been hitting 9+ averages for donkeys years! And Emil was only ever here for a short stint. Lowering their averages makes zero sense. They’re in decline.
-
Agree. Klindt 6.46 and Jenkins 4.49 to round it off?
-
From what i read the 3rd tier is a development league and not classed as professional? c.. In theChampionship League a British rider not having ridden in a Professional League in the previous season(s) may apply for an 8% reduction on their previous Championship average
