  3. Personally I think the BSN series should be completed first because it was an early season competition. Then the KOC, cause there's no reason that should have run so long either. Finish up with the play-offs. I would think that would get a big crowd whenever it is raced. Whereas the BSN may get a smaller crowd of fans have already just watched the play-off & KOC finals. I can certainly see the logic in finishing semi finals before racing finals, means the other finalists can plan dates without having to wait though. The BSN series should have been completed months ago, no excuse for it going on so long. Of course clubs tend to ignore it as they want to get their league fixtures over & done with, I don't really know why, the cut-off date doesn't need to be so early it'll cause havoc with fixtures. I also think it would have made sense for the Redcar vs Poole match to be a double header, that seems very logical, save on travel expenses & get competitions completed sooner. Oh I forgot, another reason to race the KOC finals first is to get bigger crowds. Poole & Redcar fans can't be sure they'll be in any more finals, so they may turn up in greater numbers for these matches? If it was just one out of 3 guaranteed finals, would they get the same attendance?

  5. What are peoples views on the Sprint Races? Do you think they will be dropped in 2026 or expanded to feature at more Grand Prixs? * From a personal point of view. I see little point in them unless you could incorporate them in some form into the main meeting on the day itself.
  6. If Max and Freddy were to continue improving at this rate they will have good careers ahead. Max is steady whereas Freddy can't gate but battles past riders when possible. Too many young Brits have chucked it so don't see what unwarranted criticism achieves here. We finish top of the league and make the play off finals. That's plenty good enough for me thanks.
  7. I agree with that. But wouldn't have fitted in the current team in place of a reserve. One of the top 5 wouldn't have been signed. In hindsight you'd say Boughen, but pre-season he could've been the next big thing.
  8. The split of opinions here is exactly the problem that needs to be solved. One big league (any race night therefore no star names or enough riders but otherwise sustainable). Or A Premiership (Mon & Thursday with star names but not enough teams). As per my previous post I think you can have both. But the Premiership needs to be slimmed down. 8 teams 7 home and 7 away. Get it all done over June and July when the sports channels have no football. Like The Hundred in cricket. Give the broadcaster something they can focus on and market to a wider audience for a shorter period. That probably provides enough fixtures for the star riders and promoters, especially if whatever TV money is for a small number fixtures. Less is more. But not for the domestic riders or maybe the stadium owners or supporters The solution, Premiership teams also operate a 2nd tier team. Alongside the other current 2nd tier teams ie 14 team league. Where the riders come from at this point I don't know so maybe 6 or even 5 man teams initially. You could even have a different promoter running the 2nd Tier team. Yes the 2nd tier teams might not attract the same attendances as the Premiership fixtures but the operating cost will be lower without the star riders. It's basically the franchise cricket model where the top stars move around the globe to play in different leagues for different franchises supplemented by local players who return to domestic leagues once the circus has moved to the next (town) country.
  9. Hindsight is wonderful but Glasgow should have stuck by Ace Pjiper.IMO
  10. Louis does put a lot of effort into attracting sponsorship. He has one new backer this year who I believe are very impressed with how Louis goes about things.
  11. That may well be the case but until the sport sorts itself out those sponsors are few and far between and it’s not the fault of any one promotion, it’s the fault of the collective, the sport itself doesn’t know what it is or where it’s going, and if speedway doesn’t know how do you expect anyone else to ?
  12. Because unless Redcar are going to do 2 home meetings in a week, the earliest it will be done is middle of October and then 2 weeks to do 2 finals and that's providing there is no bad weather. Which is asking a lot considering at least half will be north of England and Scotland. All SFs should be completed before finals take place when it is same teams. If they going to have all competitons at end of the season, league first then koc then bsn cup. I think Poole were hoping Oxford got through last night. Be easier to sort out!
  13. Ridiculous is a bit of a strong word. Personally can't see it makes any difference
  14. Asset’s are a thing off the past riders are self employed mercenaries.
  15. Part of the problem is that there are good and not so good promoter’s. I don’t believe that Ipswich lose money as Louis has stated a number of times that he will not bankrupt the club for success. He puts in a lot of effort to attract sponsors of which there are many. I believe that Doyle’s wages are paid by one of the sponsors and I wouldn’t be surprised if part or all of Sayfutdinov’s are as well.
  16. This is no more.... or it has changed location. Whee is was now some Sphinx chain Shawarma place (bloody Tony Stark)... food was Ok, service was appalling.
  17. Nobody wants the stars out of speedway including me but we don’t have the money to carry on doing the same thing, they should get the promotion from each team ,get round the table with the top boys and say here is the pot we have which isn’t enough to carry on doing the same how do you propose we go forward ? And let’s here it from the top riders
  18. You would like to think so unfortunately that’s not how either riders or promotors think, when you’re in the sport you are blinkered to the good of the sport, you are sort of carried along with it, it’s not till you step away from the sport you become aware that we are literally peeing money up the wall, I’ve tried to point out recently which the speedway star actually picked up on that we are actually going no faster than 40 years ago but spending £1000s to achieve it, riders just don’t want to hear it or believe it, they are just chasing the next pay check and the tuners and promoters are just feeding their desires
  19. I thought the playoff SF was on 5th Oct?? To not have a date for playoff SF is ridiculous. League comes before cup imo.
  20. Good post. Be interesting to see all these riders who can’t make it pay in GB are going to make their money abroad. (and get paid on time ,or at all)
