Rumours.....talk to me! I can confirm that the rumours suggesting that Terry Tibbs has acquired the promotion rights at Ipswich Speedway to be just that rumours! Yes, Brother Louis Louis Louis and his assistant Richie Hawkeye did attend the offices of T Tibbs Motors (Chingford) Limited earlier this month to discuss a potential deal! I offered young Christopher a substantial sum of ready's, plus my 2017 Mazz-a-rati which was recently serviced and passed it's MOT with only one observation, the free use of Krystof Stojanowski's caravan which I purchased from The Isle of Wight in 2009 and free oil massage whenever he and Hawkeye wanted from my beautiful Swedish wife Greta! Brother Louis was obviously tempted as he asked to see my full business plan for the day to day running of the club, I advised him that Main Man Rogers would be installed as Head of Operations, where he would be assisted by the vastly experienced Jimmy Lynch as Director of Speedway and his protégé Big Blayne Scroggins would be Team Manager, I even offered Richie Hawkeye the opportunity to be Main Man Rogers' assistant so that he could learn all about how to run a club successfully! After much pondering and signs he was up for the deal, Brother Louis Louis Louis asked for a few days to think about things, during which time Stojanowski's caravan was moved from Busty C's holiday village in Norfolk to become the VIP lounge at Buxton! I think this news may have upset Brother Louis, as he sent Richie Hawkeye down to Chingford with a note declining my most generous proposal! I tickled Richie Hawkeye's chin, gave him a little wiggly woo, even offered him a free place on the next Main Man Rogers how to promote speedway seminar but he said Brother Louis mind was made up, it was no! So that's it from me, thank you goodnight, much love Terence!

No offence intended but that’s not new news is it? Louis himself issued a statement over a fortnight ago now saying the same thing. Sale all agreed, just DD and paperwork to get through.

Being one of the “nice guys of the sport” shouldn’t be a yardstick for anyone to sign him. There may have been value signing him at the start of last season due to his average dropping due to riding with a wrist injury. But a solid season has seen that rise over half a point again. Little value, and a poor signing and a strange one all things considered. You’d have thought with his mates disappearing (Hawkins due to his loyalty to Chris, his words), King would have seen lifting the big one finally as a natural conclusion to his time at the club and he’d follow the others out the door. I guess with nobody else wanting him (understandably), a job is still a job I suppose. Not exactly out with the old, in with the new and a bright new dawn is it? Death, taxes, and Danny King at Ipswich.

Another Norfolk rider. Trevor Hedge grandson.

The White Knight started following Ipswich and Northampton?

I've been scouring the internet to see if there is a copy of this book available but just cannot find anything - all those which come up as ebay links are sold and gone. Does anyone have a copy they would like to sell? -

Really. -
I would try any of the several speedway fan groups on social media eg Facebook, as that is more suited to the older fans....!

Ipswich and Northampton?

Using an inflation calculation re buying power that £4k would be approx £68k today -
Why would you want to get rid one of him, good rider and one of the nicest guys in the sport.
-
No. And he clearly no longer wants any involvement. It’s a sale, or no speedway.
-
Also, would anyone who has worked hard to build a business over many years, be comfortable at handing the keys over and risk that business's reputation and value becoming damaged, without needing to have a very active continuing personal involvement?

Where can u buy those rose tinted specs? -
Yeah that was the best I found, but even then, the team names aren't always completely accurate. I was hoping this data would be nicely archived somewhere, but knowing British Speedway it probably isn't
-
His best mates that have kept him in the team all these years have now buggered off, and they STILL can’t get rid of him at Foxhall 😂
-
Speedway Researcher will give you team names and a very simple graphic that sort of resembles the logo.

Championship Predictions 2026
Marksman replied to Paddy The Rebel's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
It is a good looking and competitive Championship, the usual suspects Poole, Oxford and Glasgow will no doubt be up there, all 3 look strong. Edinburgh have a strong looking reserve pair (believe Loftus will be one of the best signings on his average) Plymouth strong top 2, plus Klima at reserve should clean up (if he turns up every week) Redcar don’t look as strong as last year, can’t see that side being a play off team. But they do have a very strong reserve pair. Likewise with Berwick they’ll be competitive especially at home, but will probably fall short of the play offs. Scunthorpe do look weak, but I’d imagine once they make changes once Pickering’s average drops they might become more competitive away. Workington have the best looking side since we’ve relaunched. Should be miles more competitive away from home in 2026, and I’m confident we can take that 4th spot again. 1st Glasgow 2nd Oxford 3rd Poole Plymouth/Edinburgh/Workington fighting for 4th. 7th Berwick 8th Redcar 9th Scunthorpe -
I am collecting data for a project I am working on and I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find old logos and team names. I know there is some data out there, but it is not all in one place so was wondering if there was a place that had already collated this kind of thing.

I'm sure Connor Mountain is thinking like that, he got dropped for Zischke the previous year when averaging above 4.00!

2026 Premiership is Go! - At least 5 teams
YeOldPitGate replied to RoundTheBoards's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I think the problem is as other have mentioned the 20-30 double uppers in the prem will make more money in the current system than say one big league at championship pay rates so they won't be keen. Again another example of the sport boxing itself in so the riders dictate for the UK unattractive race nights for some clubs and do rider shortage they can call more shots even bang average riders. -
Spot on Cookie in fact if they had any sense they should probably kick off on the early May bank hol Monday but as ever with Speedway you run the risk even with a possible only 8 fixtures of running until back end of Sept.
