Ipswich v Belle Vue POSF Leg 2
ouch replied to blue witch's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Brady isn’t great at Ipswich but the timing of the meeting has made some see a lack of effort on his part when this wasn’t the case, it was just Brady at Ipswich. What was the reason for his low scores there earlier in the season? Last year Brady’s most important world championship meeting was the GP challenge, in some ways more important than today’s meeting as the long term financial benefits of being part of the GP circus are huge for a rider and it was something he had missed out on time and time again. The day before he won the challenge he rode unbeaten for The Aces as our captain leading us to another league title. Rather than make up a conspiracy that isn’t there maybe focus your attention on why three of the most spectacular riders in world speedway were unable to strut their stuff in one of the most high profile meetings of the domestic season. -

But as you know, he wouldn’t have. Always gives 100%, considering the amount of injuries he’s had, never afraid to get stuck in, and a real pleasure to watch. -
Who knows what is happening with the leagues next season, so could be next season

Have they? They take British riders away from league fixtures on a regular basis to go and finish well down the finishing order on the continent and have only staged 2 Test Matches (both at Glasgow) in the last 5 years. They've failed to get any kind of exposure since twice winning the SoN and the only chance the fans get to hear of what's going on is by following them on social media that seems more interested in pushing the wares of their sponsors and running some kind of lottery. Yes, they're doing a better job of running the GB Speedway Team than their predecessors but you have to ask to what end?

If you told me we’d win by 14 before the meeting I would’ve bit your hand off, but feel we let them off the hook last night at that should’ve really won by more. Heat 12 should’ve been pulled back as Klindt jumped it how he missed that god knows. Conceding two 5-1s to Hodder at home is really poor, no offence to him but shouldn’t be happening, could potentially cost us in the 2nd leg. 14 points to take to Ashfield not entirely convinced we will hold on to that but we will give it a good go that’s for sure.

Thing is though, no rider is ever judged from just one meeting, it’s normally down to a history of not being invested in certain meetings, pulling out of certain meetings etc Brady isn’t the first and won be the last, I would say KK is probably the go to rider when it comes to picking a choosing when he can be bothered. I try to put myself in the Belle Vue fan position, say back in the day, Lakeside were in a play off and AJ was contesting a GP final and only scored three points away prior to such final, I don’t think I would be angry, but I would be very disappointed, as even if he went onto win the series, how would that help Lakeside especially if the following season he decided to quit racing in the UK. I think what you have to remember is, winning the league is your clubs title, a rider winning the World Championship, isn’t your clubs title, the rider is representing his country, not one of the two or three clubs he rides for every week, although it is an added bonus to say your tracking the World Championship the following season if you retain him. If I was an Ipswich fan, Brady not wanting it, is Aces loss, and come the end of the season will be soon forgotten but I can still understand how they feel because such attitudes could easily be replicated on mass if the sport in this country doesn’t sort itself out, if clubs start to fall because riders have too much power, the whole deck of cards fall with it. - Today

Probably Knudsen and possibly Gusts unavailable due to DSL final. - not that unavailability generally stops Oxford management organising a fixture.

He kept us in it last night . To a certain extent we got away with one last night , at one point I didn't think we would reach thirty points . So it's in the fun zone , are we capable of reaching 53 against Edinburgh at home - yes we are . But likewise are Edinburgh capable of reaching 39 at Ashfield - yes they are . So the second leg should be a cracker and should draw a big crowd , bring it on .

I see low scores there. And no doubt he will have more low scores there. Belle Vue fans not bothered so can’t understand the other fans getting involved. there was a would you rather poll. Aces win league. Or Kurtz become world champion it was a massive win for Brady to be world champion #teamkurtz -
If the Monarchs had retained the 20 point lead they had at one time during the meeting the advantage was with them but I believe the Tigers will overcome a 14 point deficit at Ashfield. The heavy shower spoiled it as a spectacle but I have seen worse televised meetings to be honest. At one time it looked like all the Tigers good work during the season was going to count for nothing mainly because of a heavy downpour and agreeing to ride with a patched up team, thought they really missed Dan Thompson as Nikolai was woeful for 3 rides and then looked liked a world beater in his final outing. The Monarchs will be kicking themselves for letting the Tigers reduce the deficit over the final third of the meeting especially as Bomber rarely looks that uncomfortable.
