  2. That, of course, depends on how many riders will be in the teams!! Some have suggested five riders per team, with many others saying six. It doesn't necessarily have to be seven man teams. It went down to six per team in 1997 (but soon went back to seven!!).
  3. Any chance of me having a slice of that cake before any riders get to it first.😂
  4. Agreed. Unless they only want one Aussie, but hopefully common sense prevails.

  6. Your point is well made in terms of the uk could learn a thing or two from Poland in promoting speedway. However in terms of minority sports Poland also excel in Volleyball, weightlifting and Ski jumping. Poland also produces annually more Steele, coal, ships and food than the UK. Contrary to popular belief Speedway is not Polands favourite sport - football is and that is something the UK - particularly England have the upper hand .
  7. Smektala is the same age as Lambert & Drabik.... at least they were in the U21's together. Kubera is a year younger.... or was in the U21's a year later when Lidsey won it... I think!

  9. I'll have to reluctantly leave out Emil then. Fricke, Doyle and Vaculik are the likely wildcards imo.

  11. Don't know why Bowes has an ego tbh, He's not even a good rider.
  12. Most of us said it was a silly idea to run so many teams, at the one track, they will be a lot better off concentrating on quality over quantity as would most clubs.
  13. was at the world under 21 team meeting at Bellevue, Drabik also in that team. very good meeting.
  14. You are correct. Instead of stating “nor the team who lost the least” I should have said “and the team who lost the least” to best describe why maybe Lions should have been regarded as the best team of the regular season and not Tigers. However all pretty academic really as rules are rules and so congratulations to Tigers for finishing top of the league - after all “the table never lies” - and here’s hoping the final is as close as the semi-final between Lions & Tigers.
  15. They ride together at Poznan. I'm surprised Smektala is 27yo, I remember him being a highly rated youngster at a similar time to Kubera.
  16. Do Douglas & Smektala ride together on the continent? Except for U21 World Cup at Belle Vue many years ago I can't recall him riding in UK before. Maybe a GP qualifier at Glasgow.
  17. Certainly not outclassed, seemed to get better as the meeting progressed and won his penultimate ride. Looked like he was riding Dougy's kit. Leicester not the easiest of tracks to get to grips with but he got on okay with it without being spectacular, could be worth a punt as a 3rd heat leader somewhere, but I bet he ain't cheap.
  18. The post that I quoted from you said that Tigers were not the team who lost the least. That is an incorrect statement. I have no dispute with Leicester having the beating of us this year. That was definitely the semi final we didn't want.
  19. Clearly from someone who has no clue about Poland 😂 immigration they are better than us in, road networks, policing their streets. I would feel safer living in Poland than in England, unfortunately some chose to leave the EU so now we are locked in the country with 3rd world citizens 😁 instead of locking them out of our country.
  20. In all honesty, we should be thankful it's Poland who's calling the shots. What did we actually manage in the late 90s/00s when GB was in control? Everything Poland has now should've been GB, with the Sky deal, the top riders, the money, etc., etc. We ended up with green helmet covers, pissing money up the wall on one rider, and zero investment in fundamental parts of the sport.
