What will 2026 UK speedway bring?
BluPanther replied to Lionsman66's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
All riders are free agents. Ipswich, Belle Vue and Sheffield don't own anyone to 'share out'... - Yesterday

What will 2026 UK speedway bring?
szkocjasid replied to Lionsman66's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
If no-one's willing to move up, what can they do? The fact that Ipswich, Belle Vue & Sheffield haven't exactly shared out the heat leaders, may make any clubs thinking of stepping up hesitant to become the next Birmingham or Oxford? -
Can't see Nagel being back. Shame as what a talent, and exciting to watch, but too many foreign commitments meant that he missed far too many meetings (not counted, but it felt like he missed half of them) and that's likely to be the same again next year
-
He pretty much single handedly ruined our 2024 season. Can't see the promotion touching this druggie with a barge pole

Surely can't have a 5 Team Premiership. -
Is Villads Nagel a definite no? Also does the -2.5% British reduction count for all British rider? 1. Chris Harris 8.90 2. Jody Scott 3.48 3. Villads Nagel 7.39 4. Leon Flint 6.95 5. Dan Thompson 8.52 6. Jordy Loftus 2.00 7. Freddy Hodder 2.63 39.87

As I've said earlier, this is a team I'd like, though I'd be a bit sad for the teams that lost some of these riders... but here's a 7 I like anyhow. Chris Harris (9.13) Jody Scott (3.92) Leon Flint (7.13) Tate Zischke (5.76) Kyle Howarth (8.12) Sam Hagon (3.57) Jordy Loftus (2.19) Total: 39.82 (but will be lower with 2.5% reductions, which I couldn't be bothered to calculate as this team is below 40 anyway).

Cradley heath was known worldwide for 2 things, man hole covers and the speedway and both of those have gone, sadly if you live in cradley and you were born after 1995 you would have no idea just how much they put cradley heath on the map and it’s that level of thinking that speedway is up against -

It could unfortunately councils couldn’t care less about cradley or speedway -
With the rumoured new NL average rule Rushen could come in on a 4pt average for the Championship
-
Agreed I was just naming two.
-
Aye, fair enough, I know you got my gist.
-
How about starting off with Tate Zischke at reserve? Kerr for Bowes strengthens the top end! Troy Bachelor - 6.80 Lewis Kerr - 6.77 Annti Vuolas - 6.68 Jye Etheridge - 5.66 Jacob Hook - 5.63 Tate Zischke - 5.43 Mitchell Cluff - 3.00 Total 39.97
-
Bomber said his first contract was done. I believe that to be Kings Lynn.
-
If Zach does not return I can’t see Bowes being at Poole. No Zach I think we would go for another rider with a slightly higher average

There can be a blue groove on the inside of bend one as a meeting progresses, but this is usually in the hotter, drier days of summer, which Poole have more than their fair share of. Rushden has put in some decent times when he's done some after meeting laps and when he did the Harbour Masters meeting. -

Also by Peterborough, Swindon - these are also "big names" in Speedway too. -
redcar racing bears v Poole FTG pirates
YeOldPitGate replied to Coraldon's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Hugely unlikely they are already getting decent crowds and not much attraction of increasing costs by a third in a league of possibly another 4 or 5 teams, plus if they end up with the three super talented youngsters Cairns, Rushden and Bailey next season if those three can crack on they will bring in the crowds. I haven't been to Poole but the only worry I would have if the one line blue groove quotes are true is its not the kind of track that would suit out and out racers like Rushden and Bailey. -
The 40 point limit was agreed for 3 years (unless they change it at agm)!
-
Thanks for the update. I've been keeping tabs on their Facebook page. In my opinion speedway could be boosted by having big names like Cradley and Coventry back at the top table.
-
If Ace is at 6, won't have such a strong top 4 obviously. Btw I wouldn't call a rider who can score 4 at home & 2 away a "sacrificial no 7" that sounds like a valuable member of the team.

What about that young dane who entered the end of season meeting granted wasn't the strongest field and terrible conditions but he seemed useful ?
