  1. Past hour
  2. I dare say they looked at the finances/costings for one and it just meant losing money even with a sell out, personally I think it’s too expensive at Belle Vue full stop for one GP let alone 2. They kept ramping up the price at Cardiff each year and look where that ended up, supporters just ended up walking away or watching it on TV, TNT seem to be going that way as well. It wouldn’t be too bad if the racing was top notch but this years Prague GP was the very first since 1995 that actually had some decent racing and even some overtaking, I just thought it was me and the Glasgow promoter who thought the racing was actually important.
  3. Yes and has won his first three rides. He looked perfectly well at Ipswich on Thursday taking 6 rides before asking for a medical certificate

  5. Hopefully they’ll reschedule a meeting for next Monday as Lynn’s schedule is clear
  6. I mean its a bit of ai that anyone could've designed.
  7. Should be banned for 14 days. Took 6 rides at Ipswich with no problems and after his final race asked for a medical certificate.

  9. Meeting off tomorrow at kings Lynn. With the recent hot weather they are concerned that the wooden spoons in the trophy room may catch light causing significant improvements to the stadium 😉
  10. No idea, but my sources are telling me it’s off… could be wrong though 👀
  11. All fair points, however.... The ultimate issue over the last two decades in particular has been the lack of a joined up development plan for UK riders... That has resulted in almost 200 guests being used per season, restricted race nights so riders can double up, resulting in contrived competitions with little credibility, and with hardly any rewards... To unpick all the self inflicted issues, and gain back all those fans who have left the sport behind is, I would say, sadly beyond achievable now... Even if those running the sport over here had the skill set to do it...
  12. Due to a proposed new signing not being done in time ?
  13. My favourite season was 1990 too. Chris Louis Alan mogridge dean standing Shane parker and David Norris provided brilliant entertainment home and away. Young hungry riders going places. Although Dean standing didn’t fulfill his promise he was an incredibly stylish rider who should and could have had a long career in the sport.
  14. I don't want to get controversial - but I will. I think a big part of Speedway's problems started with the Laydown Engines, and the 4-Valve bikes used in the 70's. It started the free for all with the Engine Tuners. Spiralling costs due to Engine Tuning etc. contributed to increasing the price at the gate, thus taking the Sport out of reach of very many people. Costs became prohibitive crowds grew smaller and smaller. This is where we find ourselves now. There is no doubt in my mind that the old 2-Valve was cheaper to run, safer for the riders, and no real advancement has been shown on the Track. The 2-Valve may have been fractions slower but, what we gained in speed, we also gained in injuries. Tracks built for Speedway nowadays can't cope with the the new 'rocket ships' that riders are using at the moment, hence the big increase in injuries. Tracks haven't changed much since 1928 - but the bikes have. THAT to me is a problem also. I don't believe that the GP System has done British Speedway any good either. Personally, I much preferred the old 'one off' World Final.
  15. Today
  16. Miracle recovery from Nicolai Klindt today in Rybnik winning his first 4 races, must have flown over Lourdes on his way ✝️ Pulling moves like Michael Jackson while digging his start positions out at the gate with seemingly no ill effects from his knee injury 👍🏻 Must be a relief for all of the Bears' fans. 🐻🍵🍵
  17. Although he once decided the track needed extra moisture prior to a meeting and reportedly took a water bowser onto the track at the Cowley stadium but heavily overwatered it, leaving the circuit completely unrideable and forcing the meeting to be abandoned.
  18. Rushen is available for this one so of course they won’t! They’ll give this one every chance.
  19. Sorry for the late arrival, but do we have to pay using this link now. I used to be able to get on it for free?
