  1. Past hour
  2. When did I say you weren't entitled to disagree? I totally respect your right to be wrong. (even about Screen's age). I don't count Loram as a genuine world champion. Won the world title without winning a single G.P. in a year when there were only 6 rounds with a silly format which mainly required finishing 2nd in a couple of races. I rate Screen as a far more naturally talented rider who could have won real world titles with a little more dedication.
  3. i dont care i like people who speak their mind , and no bullrubbish. its not a flour arranging sport.
  4. I think joining a club like Poole will always increase expectations, especially in the case of Cairns who was announced half a season before he could ride. If Rushen is planning to ride in the Prem already, I'd suggest the expectations won't get to him. I guess if a rider wanted a no pressure first season, best join the perennial strugglers at the bottom?
  5. Yup that idea is so outrageous it's probably going to happen. The new team "pool" would be a suitable name. The pool phoenix sounds a catchy team name. Merry Christmas Dont have Nightmares 🙂
  6. Here's 3 riders for you, that I think would fit the bill; Craig Cook Nicolai Heiselberg Jamie Etherington Team total comes in under 40, what do you reckon?
  7. Bloody hell, just when I thought speedway couldn't get any more embarrassing, you suggest this !!
  8. Today
  9. First big problem - are there 12 reasonable standard Championship riders not already contracted to a Premiership club? Second big problem - it's an horrific idea
  10. keep on saying banging on about team , not going to make them put riders out quicker is it .
  11. I know that there has been many goodwill comments and having a 6th team is one that I feel would prove beneficial. It is now very unlikely that a championship team would move up but I wondered if a "pool" of championship riders could become the sixth team. Plan: Have a pool pf say 12 riders and appoint a team manager. Based on availability the team manager will choose the team for each fixture. The home meetings for this sixth team would race on a championship track. If possible each track will have one meeting with the probability that a couple would have two meeting to allow for league and cup. The sixth team members would be paid at championship rates keeping costs down. Hopefully the squad would be happy for the additional meetings and the home track would hopefully get a decent crowd as well as another fixture to fill up their calender.
  12. Sometimes holidays give the chance to reflect on decisions and get a different perspective, especially to knee-jerk and emotive ones
  13. Because 4 riders pulled out on the day before and day of the meeting
  14. Loram was better than Screen easy. Loram was World Champ and Screen never even got close. Screen was not disciplined enough to fulfil his potential. On the piss too much and eating crap.
  15. Not exactly the way to go about it though in Public. That will not help his Club search.Highly overrated himself,he hardly GP standard among the present Aussies.
  16. One of the best daytime meetings I ever attended. Enjoy... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GhPXph-sp_M&list=WL&index=1
  17. Apologies you are correct.Misread part of your Post.🤗
  18. You are entitled to your opinion and I’m entitled to disagree Nothing against Joe he was supreme to watch and I would cheer for him every race at those early 1990’s British , commonwealth and overseas finals an awesome rider The record books will show he wasn’t quite at Lorams level and it could be argued he should have achieved more We was at Odsal in 1992 and how victory against a world class field in the riders championship was amazing to see
  19. No you are wrong … Mark rode for Hackney in the top league in 1987 Hackney dropped down in 1988 and Mark dropped down with them In 1989 the Hackney promotion moved to Ipswich and Mark Chris and Moggo went as well Mark then moved to Kings Lynn in 1990 as a reserve … we went to his first meeting at home to Reading where Mark top scored with 19 I believe from 7 rides …. The only Reading rider to beat him was their new number 7…. Todd Wiltshire
  20. Heeps always had the ability but never took the fitness bit seriously, would always come into a fresh season carrying to much weight, i think one year he spent the pre season training with Scott.N and he was the fittest and slimmest he'd ever been and had a decent season that year, a shame really coz he was a joy to watch flying round Foxhall and few inches from the fence.
  21. Marks first 3 full seasons were not in the Top League they were in the National League (2 for Hackney 1 for Ipswich) couple of guest meetings in Top League in these seasons.Kings Lynn were his first full season Top League.
  22. Its bizarre with Heeps when he started out with Mildenhall big things were expected but it never really panned out for the lad.
  23. My memory is a bit hazy on this Gavan as I stopped going in 1992 but I thought Mark started with Hackney in the old national league and then Lynn signed him as a reserve in the Bill Barker days poss 89 or 1990 I haven't googled and as it's nigh on 35 year ago I could well be wrong.
  24. Screen went straight into the top-flight with Belle Vue as a 16-year-old in 1989. I'd rate him better than Loram.
