Scunthorpe vs Poole 18.07.2025
Essex replied to ScunnyDan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Sorry but what a daft comment seems like your saying let's sacrifice the lesser riders in the team because they are expendable how soppy is that.Heat 15 should be your star riders everyone looked forward to the turbo twins every week because they put bums on seats even if Poole were out of site and it gives the oppos top ones a chance to lower the big guns flags. I joined this site to exchange comment and banter with fellow speedway supporters but sadly while there are some good people on here with the same idea there are many who just want to antagonize and make stupid comments how sad you are.Time to maybe give this site a miss now.Just maybe use this site for some friendly banter not personal attacks and realize we are all speedway fans some longer than others. -
Then of I was Birmingham I wouldn't say it was a mutual decision, just say "we're disappointed Jason doesn't want to return". At least that way, they're letting the fans know they aren't trying to weaken the team.

The old Elite League fast track format was like that. I thought it was a really good format, heat leaders meet more often, reserves meet more often, should mean closer racing, which is beneficial to the fans & help develop the riders too. -

Well half the stadium isnāt actually die hard for Man C and just jumped into the stadium when money got plowed into it and they bought the league š same as Lublin, 5/6 years ago they didnāt have that many fans. -
From what I can gather he didn't want to be there in the first place.

I think initially there was an idea to do a lot of things, using the stadium to maximum effect but they put the blocks on that because ultimately they want the speedway out and itās not easy to get planning on anything while there is a sports team there, hence, Swindon, wolves, get the team out in advance -

Look at these premier teams, Jesus . -
I know that Tolley said the amount they want to rent the stadium is completely unviable. Im sure if they came up with a plan to run speedway, sidecars etc it might be viable if all parties paid towards the rent. However im sure they wouldnāt extend the deal for more than 1 season even if the viability was workable.

Totally agree. So if a league restructure results in GP level riders deserting the UK, crowd levels will be impacted? The sport in the UK is already on its arse and will continually be propped up (although for how much longer I donāt know) by a loyal aging population who will be there most weeks accepting whatever crap is served up. This last couple of seasons there has been a decent representation of GP (or similar level) racing in the UK. Crowds havenāt exactly been flocking back have they? The sport has to be targeting new people and the ā yeah, I used to go to speedway, do so and so still have a team?ā brigade. There are people out there that could be tempted to visit a track through decent marketing (yawn, here we go again) that couldnāt name a current GP rider and would be quite contempt if they saw decent racing with riders of similar ability. They would soon adopt their own rider favourites that represented their own team and probably wouldnāt care less about riders that they donāt get to see. Team sports generally have a tribal appeal to the working class. Speedway is (should be) a working class sport. -
Well, let's hope the Ruskies don't invade or we're toast! As a season ticket holder it is not beyond the wit of man to roll your unfulfilled meeting on to next season. What you guys in deepest darkest Norfolk don't seem to realise is there's a whole league system going on elsewhere in the country with play off qualification/positions to be decided and a TV schedule to be adhered to. KL idioted it up last season and they're idioting it up again this season.
