  2. Kyle is many times a better rider than Max with equipment levels even further above (temperament is a different issue) however the bigger issue is that every year people are bringing up retired/returning riders and thats simply because there isn't enough of a pipeline in place to fill places, thats because the NL's are in a poor state and thats because of those who run the sport.
  3. If world titles were judged over the first three yards Bricey would have more titles than Bartoz he could outrap anyone the problem was most of the time he was on a flymo. Yep those teams during the mid 80's we would be in with a sniff then you would have a critical heat where it was Nielson and Wigg (virtually unbeatable at Lynn) v Brice and Einar
  4. An extract from a letter from an eye-witness: I was at the track that night and Graham had won his first two starts from the gate and was riding really well, but was beaten by young Peter Pollitt in his third start. He came out to ride in the first handicap race and was on 150 yards. Boy, did he go! Probably determined to make up for his defeat in the previous race. Well, he took off and on the pit bend was really flying, picked up 50 yards on the back straight and coming into the top bend was 20 yards behind Pinker when Pinker fell. Graham, coming round very fast either touched him with his footrest (he was coming on the inside) or else in trying to avoid Pinker, he lost control. I did not see him hit Pinker’s bike, but the next thing, Graham shot over the handlebars and went sliding along the track for 20 yards on his face and stomach, his arms trailing at his sides just like a wooden soldier, and he just stopped and never moved. I think he was actually “out” before he hit the ground. As far as I can gather, he has concussion at the base of the skull and as yet has not regained his senses. These are the plain facts and I hope I have not upset his fiancée but that’s exactly how things are. The crowd (10,000) had just stood for 2 minutes in memory of Ken (Le Breton) who was the idol of Palmerston North crowds and believe me that same crowd was silent for a long time after the ambulance had left with Graham. I am fully confident he will be ok. Being young and strong, I guess he can take it.

  6. Trackrat would love to see the demise of Poole, he hates them
  7. Why only tag me in this? Over half the forum knows who he is. A disgusting individual who should be locked away for life.
  8. Yesterday
  9. Are they in the room with you at this moment? 😉
  10. No, there are many clubs we have or have had a rivalry with and that is good, absolutely nothing wrong with that. I am sure we all hope no more clubs disappear.
  11. Hope you don't disappear, love coming down when the Comets are riding, to look at the luxury boats before going to the speedway 😁, and I won't be able to post on here anymore to keep the pilots fans happy 🤪🙃
  12. Yes plenty of people do that and that is fine, most Poole fans are used to that but there is one or two who would take pleasure in our demise.
  13. Plenty of people down the years have had a pop at Poole, me included. I don't recall any of them expressing satisfaction at any doubt cast over the club's operating future, though as in all things I stand to be corrected!
  14. Graham Warren had the potential to be World Champion. Third in the 1950 World Championship but a bad accident in New Zealand early in 1951 left him with a fractured skull and, although he returned to the saddle and became a reasonably good rider, he never quite returned to the heights he had reached before his accident, even though he did come 5th twice in the World Championship in 1952 and 53. But he was certainly a case of what might have been. 1963 was his final season before retirement.
  15. Not absurd at all, you are correct that any fan worth their salt would not want the demise of yet another speedway club but unfortunately that does not apply to everybody who comments on Poole threads.
  16. That did make me laugh. Underrated post!
  17. I am not sure it will be the same, Czestochowa and Grudziadz have no Sunday fixtures, Gorzow only 2.
  18. Don't be absurd. Our sport is on the ropes and any fan worth their salt would be delighted that a well-resourced and stable club is securing at least its immediate future.
  19. That would be quite an impressive line up plenty of depth to that team and having Jeppesen or Howarth at reserve will provide a strong reserve all season.
  20. To answer your question directly, the first two fixtures for each round I've listed as Friday, and the second two fixtures for each round I've listed as Sunday. I've taken these from the official Ekstraliga announcement. The last couple of years, Ekstraliga announced the fixtures in the same way and closer to each round they then confirmed which meetings were Friday and which were Sunday. Last year, in one round, they swapped two fixtures around, so that one they'd listed as probably Friday became a Sunday fixture and one which was listed as probably Sunday became a Friday fixture. So, it may be they're going to do this again this year, but as R+R said above, the final confirmation will come earlier this year, they've said it'll be at least 6 weeks before the relevant round. Obviously as we find out, if there are any changes I'd list them immediately.
  21. I’d assume they’d do that when all the riders are announced
  22. Adam Ellis is definitely in the team then!
  23. 1986 - in the British League the Stars won only two away matches (Reading and Swindon), and lost all at home. They had won two and drawn two at home in the League Cup, but lost all away. 85, 86, and 87 were three consecutive Wooden Spoons for the Deadbeets. Kevin Brice was one of those remarkable riders who kept going whatever happened. At Foxhall we called him Binary Brice because his score chart was often just ones and noughts 🙂
  24. Wasn't stingray in that team as well?
