  1. Past hour
  2. That's not the worst idea. Would mean equal points handed out for each "pair of fixtures" (if also getting rid of the superheat for draws). Or even award the aggregate point(s) over all 4 league fixtures?
  3. I don't know if I'd consider it unfair as they didn't win on aggregate.
  4. I think Darryl has already shown he's better than a 2 point rider, but obviously no harm in reminding promoters of that. But that's also the main reason he didn't get a new club, he no longer has a 2.00 average. Riding exactly 6 matches for Poole then getting replaced was the worst thing that could've happened to him, rode himself out of a team spot. While not exactly the same, Vinnie Foord upped his 2.00 average & they didn't want him any more. If you can't reach 2 (Ablitt, Perry, Marson) you get dropped, if you increase your average (Foord, Ritchings) you get dropped! Why do 2.00 riders keep going to Poole lol! Ps yes I know the Ritchings / Cairns situation was pre-planned.
  5. Porky has always commented on the last lap of the final race. He likes to give it some drama. He is one of the best in the business.
  6. Yea but them in charge of speedway took 2 points off us
  7. The last crowd at Poole was reported to be well over 2000, if true the extra money made should go towards the cost of replacing the air fence, where other/most clubs get a lot less than 1000 people, then these clubs look at various fund raising options
  8. According to quite a few. I've regularly had to research the oppositions websites to see what the Redcar team lineup is before meetings as the Redcar media releases have been so slow.
  9. I pretty much agree with that although Peterborough did do ok with the dads army side. I’d say teams with top end power are nailed on for the top 4.
  10. That would be similar to the extra point for the draw but in reverse - equally unfair!
  11. Hopefully he'll be fit enough to ride in GB as well as in Poland. Sadly the attitude of some riders have made me suspicious.
  12. What's funny about that? Why shouldn't clubs look for multiple way to pay their expenses? Dar better than just adding an extra quid or two onto entrance fees each season!
  13. I seem to recall that teams had the option to play a joker and score double points in the next race/event! How could you possibly bring that idea into a professional sport like speedway 😄 (Just like they did a few seasons ago 😟).
  14. Today
  15. Flint should be a good guest for Redcar. Jody Scott should know his way around the track, but obviously tougher in the top 5. Charles Wright should lead from the front. Close match in prospect.
  16. I know, that's the point I was making. When Klindt missed a couple of matches because he was racing the following day, Plymouth could have got a full guest facility then - by declaring he was "withholding his services". They chose not to do that, so my response would be "if you didn't need a full guest then, you don't need one now" I'm not saying Plymouth are breaking any rules on Wednesday, just that the rules need tightening up. Hypothetically Klindt could miss every match for the rest of the season, with Plymouth alternating between a 75% guest & a full guest apparently?
  17. Personally I would like to see all the teams riders dressed as giants and do an obstacle course,, just like it's a knockout used to do,,, now that was entertainment
  18. I agree with much of what has been said. Nothing wrong with a draw. It’s just a gimmick that needs to end up in the bin with the likes of six lap races and double points for tactical rides.
  19. Shouldn't all clubs try to raise more funds if the opportunity arises.
  20. I think it's great, creates interest and chatter, such s this thread and you get an extra race, what's not to like!
  21. Confirms they are trying to raise funds
  22. Two points for a win. One point for a draw. One point for the aggregate win. No super heats. If scores are level on aggregate, adopt a count back approach, fewest last places over the two legs. Super heats are ultimately about not finishing last to put the emphasis on league racing being a team sport. The outcome of a single race would therefore replaced with teams performances over two meetings, thus reflecting what the aggregate point is supposedly about.
  23. Jordan Dubernard replaces Van der Steen who is still not fit after his crash in the Netherlands earlier this year.
  24. Looking forward to watching this on BSN
