And then you have Klindt scoring just 3 points so don’t see how you can criticise Batch on 5 points

A chance for Scunny to move to the top of the table tonite if we beat Oxford All riders as planned apart from Oxfords Mitch McDiarmid is riding Sgp2?..Sam Hagon guests.... Weathers says it gonna be nearly 29 degrees,,,,im predicting 55..35

I guess MPT being a former Plymouth ruder, Battye having never ridden there before & Smith being notoriously bad there, I can agree with the guest choice. Mind you if MPT helps Berwick to am away win, that could harm Scunthorpe's play-off hopes 🤔

Ipswich Witches vs Leicester Lions 9th July

Totally agree. It's the same for both teams & up to the riders to adapt. -

I'd say there's a difference between being competitive & being successful. Northampton haven't been successful, but mostly have been competitive. How I'd explain it is a rider with 4 last places, but only losing out on the line is competitive, a rider half a lap behind isn't. Likewise a team losing by 2 or 4 points each week is competitive, losing by 20 or 30 points isn't? -

A home defeat is a home defeat is a home defeat. The league table doesn't have asterisks for effort and bad luck. It doesn't make one want to attend the next meeting, knowing that it will be the same again. Changes needed, at team manager and at reserve, at least! -

Would imagine Sheffield on to Doyle to guest for Jack Holder next Thursday as he’ll be at Belle Vue as long as Bewley is out for -

Don't forget the huge difference in prize money between finishing second from bottom or third from bottom! Arthur Fery is now guaranteed £900,000, irrespective of his result this afternoon. Indeed he was guaranteed £80,000 just for reaching the First round - I don't imagine the British Speedway Premiership Champions actually get anything except a medal ... -

On Witches Facebook responding to a taunt from a Witches fan about retiring at the back, Kemp said he lost his steel shoe in one race and had a puncture in another. I'm guessing his fall was tactical - certainly the sort of thing John Berry would have expected, e.g. if we can't get a 5-1, then keeping us 6 behind for a tactical is the next best ... -
The question is though of the crowds that they are getting, are they fans for other tracks that no longer run like P'boro or Coventy? the Foxes are not their team and never will be so they wont make a lot of noise if any if they get a 5-1, its like in the days when i used to go to Rye House, I didn't cheer for the Rockets, I went their as a neutral to watch second division as Arena Essex were in the first division and at that time you saw different riders in each division. If that is the case not winning at home is not important but going forward they will need to find their own fans, because the neutrals will drift away in time once they have got their fix and realised its not the same as watching their own teams which has gone. The sport in this country tends to build something, then think that's the job done and not build upon it, it has to be forward thinking all the time, you can't rest on your laurels, that's what too many did when times were better, its always reactive not proactive. As someone said on here, there are no signs around Northampton, the people who are going already know its there, your preaching to the converted.

Good assessment and I completely agree. I was also on second bend and the only bag bit about the track was it went slick in the second half and that's when Leicester began to dominate. It was good practice for Edwards to try and pay around the outside - you can see he's not confident with that but he was trying. I agree about difficulties, didn't really witness any, only from the Leicester riders who prefer it slick. Considering Ipswich had the world's worst guest and two others missing it was a great effort. Kemp was excellent value for the Lions. I see Lynn beat Sheffield too, so it's all to play for. -

TY - looking forward to it even more now - sadly i am designated driver so no beer for me -
We said on the pod in Wednesday that Lynn taking advantage of a vulnerable Sheffield and Leicester doing the same to a vulnerable Ipswich would give our chances a massive shot in the arm and so it proved. From a Lynn point of view isolating Ipswich as the team who we can realistically overhaul is probably our best chance, another home defeat for them would be handy. But Lynn need to win at Northampton twice and be unblemished at home as a minimum to get 4th IMO.

I certainly did, i will be going again, racing wasnt the best but they will iron out any track issues over the winter. amenities are fantastic. Viewing is ok, car park is massive, stewarded well and was pretty easy to get out for saying how many people there was, and the staff were very friendly, recommend anyone to give it a go -
Not sure which stats are showing Jacks average at has less than 8?? He has scored paid 51 from 19 rides, an average of 10.7 at home in old money, new its still over 9.5 As for replacing Jack, surely Doyle comes into the team next week at Ipswich, his 28 day spell finishes with the Aces on Monday and I haven't seen anywhere that they have made the deal permanent, then again I also haven't seen anything suggesting Bewley will return. So not sure whether a 28 deal can be extended further, but thats by far the cheapest easiest and simplest solution for Sheffield

For those who say no “league racing on tv”, why not purchase a Stream now and again? Very good value for money when compared to having to travel some distance to watch live. -

Good result for Lynn - all of a sudden they are in the play off spots!! their home defeats may well ultimately do for them BUT for now there are 5 teams going for 4 spots!! -
There's a name I know... I'm too young to remember the late 60's (just... 🙂) but I used to see him riding in Dragons meetings at Iwade about 15 years ago and he would have been in his mid 70's then. I didn't know that he'd ridden for West Ham. Glad to hear that he's still with us.
