  1. Past hour
  2. I asked this on another thread several weeks ago but you ignored it, so I will try again. You keep mentioning 'doubts over Sheffield' but with no detail or substance. Can you please us what you think you know as you seem to be the only person mentioning it ?
  3. it might be championship level but it would be the top league, plus a conference league
  4. he had signed a warsaw contract or whatever its called so the liklihood was he was going to get a spot somewhere the issue is that he was missing saturday plymouth meetings so he could ride on a sunday afternoon in poland there is clearly an arrangement between the authorities in the two countries regarding klindt otherwise hed have been banned whether thats down to the logistics of getting from plymouth to poland or something else we dont know as there has been little clarity its a bit puzzling that its been a 75% guest and no ban which seems to be a halfway house punishment that shouldnt exist as a general point there have been far too many absences inbthe championship this year due to fixture clashes if clubs are going to race on fridays and saturdays then it needs to be fully committed riders only and those who arent fully committed cant be allowed to sign in the first place
  5. Sometimes you remember the stupid things that happen, as a Canterbury supporter four very stupid memories come back. when the supporters on the coach had a whip round to buy Mike Ferreria from Coatbridge so he could ride that night. The time the coach driver was declared as our number 8 at Berwick so we didn't get a fine for not having enough riders, An injured Bob Spelta shouting abuse at fellow Ausies at Crayford and a Crayford supporter telling him he should try riding if he thought he could do better, with Bob pointing out he got ten points last time he was there. But the highlight must be the time Barry Thomas started his bike in the back of the coach full of supporters while on the motorway on the way to an away match. Frightened the life out of everyone including the driver. Good times.
  6. Friday’s match line-ups Zielona Gora v Rybnik- start time 6pm UK time. Zielona Gora 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 Rybnik 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
  7. So the posts on this thread regarding Oxford riders not being paid have little or no credence to them, all of them including Tungate who some on here said he'd walked rode last night and not the slightest bit of evidence to back u[p posts on here.
  8. Today
  9. Its going to be an interesting winter Birmingham gone, doubts over Leicester, Oxford, Sheffield, that leaves Lynn, Belle Vue and Ipswich as possible starters, anyone moving up would be bonkers the fact the Ford's have no interest speaks volumes. Running with six teams is bad enough I can't really see it being viable with any less than that figure it looks like the day of reckoning is sadly finally here.
  10. Fricke is a better rider now, amazing for Leicester.
  11. Coventry are waiting on the outcome of a compulsory purchase order placed on Brandon. in the Brian Connolly podcast he was very circumspect about it just saying wheels were in motion but he is confident speedway and stocks will return to Brandon.
  12. Confirmed teams from around 5.30pm UK time and live updates from 6pm Vastervik v Dackarna https://ta.svemo.se/Public/Pages/Competition/DrivingSchedule/CompetitionLiveResult.aspx?Branch=Speedway&Columns=CompetitionInfo,Branch,Name,Organizer,FromDateShort,LiveResult&DateFilter=TODAY&pagesize=10&IsArrangeable=true &ShowSearch=true&Style=SvemoWebsite&CompetitionId=17321 Smederna v Indianerna https://ta.svemo.se/Public/Pages/Competition/DrivingSchedule/CompetitionLiveResult.aspx?Branch=Speedway&Columns=CompetitionInfo,Branch,Name,Organizer,FromDateShort,LiveResult&DateFilter=TODAY&pagesize=10&IsArrangeable=true &ShowSearch=true&Style=SvemoWebsite&CompetitionId=17322 Lejonen v Rospiggarna https://ta.svemo.se/Public/Pages/Competition/DrivingSchedule/CompetitionLiveResult.aspx?Branch=Speedway&Columns=CompetitionInfo,Branch,Name,Organizer,FromDateShort,LiveResult&DateFilter=TODAY&pagesize=10&IsArrangeable=true &ShowSearch=true&Style=SvemoWebsite&CompetitionId=17323
  13. Unfortunately Dean I think you are right. The writing is on the wall for the whole of uk speedway. A very sad state of affairs that the sport finds its self in. A shadow of its former self & light years away from the Torun v Wroclaw match on Sunday. I really hope that a way can be found to turn the fortunes but I believe it’s to late.
  14. Well that is that, another team bites the dust. Its a shame we couldent have got a better result, Rew, Paco getting a win each was nice, as always Paco the king of Perry barr what a perfct team man. Musielak scum, the crowd, leaches come out to play where were you when we needed you, rot in hell the lot of you.
  15. Yesterday
  16. We should have brought in Jack Smith to replace Max fricke 🤣
  17. I was there at 7:00 pm and programmes were sold out. Who would have thought that there would be increased demand for this meeting ?😲 Having said that they were giving out free racecards so kudos for that. I hope every Brummie fan that wanted a programme, got one. As a Wolves fan I'm not too fussed. The West Midlands is now a speedway desert. Who could have imagined that back in the 80's/90's ? Perhaps there is a glimmer of hope in that tracks like Leicester, Oxford and Workington have made a come back.
  18. Plymouth knew that his teams abroad came first when they signed him and they still chose to 🤷🏻‍♂️ so that’s not his fault
  19. We've tried numerous times on here and the Updates site itself to no success those that do volunteer often do it once or twice and then are never seen again. As I said previously I'm no longer involved with the site, So it's up to someone else to sort these things now
  20. Not the first reliable rider riding for Kings Lynn to do it tho.
  21. A loose sold out announcement was an even bigger catastrophe. Not being able to say goodbye to my local club I won’t forget for those responsible.
  22. Just threaten to close down and they will flock to the last meeting. Birmingham tonight was ‘sold out’ (except it wasn’t according to fans inside the stadium) and people were turned away. I know, I was one of them. Wolves last ever match I’ve never seen a crowd like it as well. it seems the only thing that works.
  23. I won't hold that against you! And I do understand where you are coming from. I started going in 1969, and, even though crowds were much bigger than the 2000's, if I read programme notes from back then promoters were bemoaning the large drop off in crowds compared to the 60's and 50's. I'm sure there are many more knowledgeable forum members who could put numbers to it, and when the real decline started
