  1. Past hour
  2. Very confusing as to why neither Kennedy boys are back. Declan for his first season did well and was only going to get better. Zaine was one of the only shining lights last season for the scorpions. from what I’ve heard with Zaine is that he was initially given a team spot and then was told the spot was no longer his. thus far the scorpion side looks very concerning. After receiving the wooden spoon last season, it looks almost like there going for it again this season.
  3. Great to read TT back again! We need him to run British Speedway.
  4. Was it a bag for life Mick?I don't do FB i'm afraid🤔
  5. Always grateful that he saved Crayford Speedway in 1981 - just as I was getting into the sport. Knew him a little through the early Hackney away weekend trips and seemed a decent guy. Commiserations to his family
  6. Has somebody in the BSPL cocked up here and ended up in a Bra-field in Northamptonshire when they should have gone to Brad-ford in West Yorkshire ? Is this not exactly why Speedway is failing to as a professional sport. There we have a proper stadium - Odsal with a world class track, all the history, Yet the BSPL would rather take it to an outpost, in a shell of a stadium with zero history. I really cannot see the point in wasting time on Northampton, look to your heartlands BSPL if you want to grow the sport.
  7. At long last I am able to join the debate and re-access this Forum. Taken ages for me to recover my login details. I'll start by saying that Nathan Ablitt is the announcement tomorrow. Nothing at all against Nathan he was really unlucky to miss out last season, so it will be interesting to see how he can pick things up. But overall I have concerns about this Scunthorpe line-up ?. Obviously the BIG signing is Pickering but he looks very much a loan gun. Looking at the other teams, there is not one where I see us going away and managing more than 35 points very often ?. We also look suspect at home. Pickering looks guaranteed six rides every match. There must be more to this than meets the eye, what with Pickering's average reportedly dropping in May a couple of points ? So the intention is to make changes it seems. With still one place to fill 4pts+ can we fit in Declan Kennedy ?. I cannot understand why we invested in Declan last season if we do not bring him back this season. The second season is always the dividend, he's ridden the tracks, understands the British set-up better and he was actually making decent progress. Same with Zaine Kennedy always competitive, great to watch, became a bit of a go to rider for other teams as a guest. But looks as though he's missed out this season ? Are we planning to pancake the averages in the first month to bring Stevie Worral back ?. Far from convinced by the line-up as it stands too many questions than answers.
  8. Today
  9. To martinmauger, Better with John McGinness at least he supports speedway.
  10. I don’t have a problem with this, apart from the setting and the teams being drawn out of a bag that she just returned from the shops with. I suppose it’s a step up from when drawn at the conference though . . . “Who do you want then (insert promoter name)”
  11. Can see it now "We've scoured the globe for riders by no one could commit to the schedule so The Scorpions are delighted to announce Nathan Ablitt and Simon Lambert as the final 2 Scorpions".
  12. You could look at scraping data from an existing website using something like JSON, Python or Excel Power Query.
  13. They sell loads at wimbored road every year 🙃
  14. Who is Terry Tibbs, apart from being in a speedway limerick with Andy Hibbs?
  15. Go on Ebay & look up speedway badges
  16. Best thing to happen in weeks in speedway, the return of Terry ‘talk to me’ Tibbs! 😂😂 maybe he could bring in a 6th club??
  17. Think the bank is offering 0% interest at the moment......
  18. You might find this site helpful. Good luck! Defunct Tracks
  19. Rumours.....talk to me! I can confirm that the rumours suggesting that Terry Tibbs has acquired the promotion rights at Ipswich Speedway to be just that rumours! Yes, Brother Louis Louis Louis and his assistant Richie Hawkeye did attend the offices of T Tibbs Motors (Chingford) Limited earlier this month to discuss a potential deal! I offered young Christopher a substantial sum of ready's, plus my 2017 Mazz-a-rati which was recently serviced and passed it's MOT with only one observation, the free use of Krystof Stojanowski's caravan which I purchased from The Isle of Wight in 2009 and free oil massage whenever he and Hawkeye wanted from my beautiful Swedish wife Greta! Brother Louis was obviously tempted as he asked to see my full business plan for the day to day running of the club, I advised him that Main Man Rogers would be installed as Head of Operations, where he would be assisted by the vastly experienced Jimmy Lynch as Director of Speedway and his protégé Big Blayne Scroggins would be Team Manager, I even offered Richie Hawkeye the opportunity to be Main Man Rogers' assistant so that he could learn all about how to run a club successfully! After much pondering and signs he was up for the deal, Brother Louis Louis Louis asked for a few days to think about things, during which time Stojanowski's caravan was moved from Busty C's holiday village in Norfolk to become the VIP lounge at Buxton! I think this news may have upset Brother Louis, as he sent Richie Hawkeye down to Chingford with a note declining my most generous proposal! I tickled Richie Hawkeye's chin, gave him a little wiggly woo, even offered him a free place on the next Main Man Rogers how to promote speedway seminar but he said Brother Louis mind was made up, it was no! So that's it from me, thank you goodnight, much love Terence!

  21. No offence intended but that’s not new news is it? Louis himself issued a statement over a fortnight ago now saying the same thing. Sale all agreed, just DD and paperwork to get through.
  22. Being one of the “nice guys of the sport” shouldn’t be a yardstick for anyone to sign him. There may have been value signing him at the start of last season due to his average dropping due to riding with a wrist injury. But a solid season has seen that rise over half a point again. Little value, and a poor signing and a strange one all things considered. You’d have thought with his mates disappearing (Hawkins due to his loyalty to Chris, his words), King would have seen lifting the big one finally as a natural conclusion to his time at the club and he’d follow the others out the door. I guess with nobody else wanting him (understandably), a job is still a job I suppose. Not exactly out with the old, in with the new and a bright new dawn is it? Death, taxes, and Danny King at Ipswich.
  23. Another Norfolk rider. Trevor Hedge grandson.
  24. Very true. Great years those four years. Never to be forgotten. 🙂
  25. Kenzie Cossey is second signing ,
