Poole vs Edinburgh 16/7/25
Catalan replied to LisaColette's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I agree but do you seriously think track men go out of their way to prep tracks like tha? Last night there was a lot of head scratching as to why it went the way it did. -
They have. When I was younger though we always use to go away to see them get beat.Older and wiser now and I won't go away until we start getting competitive away from Norfolk.

Each to their own. I will not be championing mediocrity regarding track preparation. It can make such a difference to the meeting. I only make comment because where possible I want the sport to be at its best. -

I have never seen as much work put into the track as the last few seasons since covid. I can't think or a better way to make a hole or bump in tightly packed sediment than by passing a heavily nobbled tire rotating at upteen revolutions per second so surely it should be widely accepted that racing will cause bumps, ruts or polished smooth surfaces. if you folks don't like the racing on shale and the conditions that go with it why on earth do you continue to follow the sport. it's so tedious to watch everyone continually harp on about it without a thought for how the continual criticism and snipes affect the morale of everyone involved including the spectators-celebrate it! - Today

Belle Vue had their gating gloves on for the victory in the A fixture which is an essential part of speedway away from the NSS. We should be winning this but as we’ve seen on many occasions this season our poor gating has left us following the leader for 4 tedious laps. Jaimon should be on for double figures and this together with our top two should see us home.

The original poster suggested that if the track was made 'good' Poole would romp to even bigger wins. So presumably the Poole management save money on track preparation and reduced wages to their own riders as Mr Head suggests they would score even more points and earn even more points money if the track was 'good'. -
Had I realised this was tonight before now I'd have come but won't get out of work now, Aces to win at a canter again.

What about Northampton?
False dawn replied to RoundTheBoards's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I was there at the NSSC meeting when Phil Morris strongly hinted that there was a brand new club interested in running speedway. The rumours at the time were that this was Northampton but Phil never said that. But if it was and if that is still a possibility it is a good catchment area. Also, if they only entered at NDL level, there would be local derbies with Leicester and Oxford. Ah well. We can dream. The best laid plans of mice and men eh? P.S. Glasgow moving up is an obvious candidate. However, the loss of all those relatively lucrative local derbies with Edinburgh is surely a factor. -

They don't tend to put new clubs straight into the Prem though. Normally have to work their way up through the leagues. Think they will try and convince Glasgow to move up. Whether they will or not though. 🤷♀️
