  1. Past hour
  2. The racing not improving till the later heats happens everywhere, yes even Ashfield. I have made this point elsewhere, every rider should get two fast laps before the real racing commences. At least just to settle any nerves. It was the best meeting I have seen at Armadale for a long time, even with the high number of fallers. Agree with most of your opinions on riders. Your promotion will give Grahn time the way they done with Kye. Don’t think he’ll ever be that good but there is something there. I also don’t think the promotion are as ruthless as they once were. Cluff is coming on, he has a good guy in the pits with him so that will help. Unfortunately, a lot of riders are looking at their averages for next year. Sam hasn’t come on much this year. Mario has shown in glimpses but there are too few fixtures for any consistency to be gained.
  3. Leon's back wheel was over a foot away from Sedgmen in heat 9 and no contact between Mitch and Reid in Heat 14, videos/pics from bends 1&2 show no contact in both incidents.
  4. Was never on. Its not viable, hence it closing in 91 and 05
  5. An hour and 10 minutes into the Buxton v King's Lynn meeting, and still only up to heat 6? Not good.
  6. Today
  7. Ah!, thanks szkocjasid…..I stand corrected. Makes things even worse for Glasgow. 🙄
  8. Battye is a good up and coming young rider, these things will happen.
  9. Also for Gorzów v Częstochowa: https://vkvideo.ru/video-234681448_456239320
  10. Any updates on a new location for Wimbledon or dead in the water?
  11. You may want to read a little further back as you clearly have no idea what happened. Jye wasn’t even in the race. That was the issue last night.
  12. Etheridge is a dirty rider was the same a couple of weeks ago at Oxford no suprise he's involved
  13. I'm pretty sure they won't get an extra 5% at home, as its a "no facility" guest. Also r/r isn't allowed for a "no facilty" situation, has to be a guest. Not sure why that's the case, I see no reason why they can't use r/r for 75% of the missing riders average?
  14. If they like the rule, they'll just change it so the top 9 (or 8 if no Workington) riders get split up, one per team. I'm pretty sure 8.00 was chosen as there were 9 riders above 8. Next year could be, each team picks a number one from this list: Pickering 10.39 Lawson 9.25 Wright 9.11 Masters 9.01 Klindt 8.81 Thompson 8.72 Jeppesen 8.45 Cook 8.39 Harris 8.29 Then if Klindt & Cook don't want to race in the Champ, add Howarth (if he comes back),Nicholls & Kildemand to the list, if Nicholls retires, then Flint is next in line. Could make the rule, no-one can sign a second heat leader, till every team has a number one?
  15. Looks like we’re not able to sign anyone which is a great pity.
  16. Look at the amount of complaints that were made when Belle Vue signed Robert Lambert after the cut-off date, due to Max Fricke's injury. Maybe a 7 day grace period could be allowed for injuries / retirements after 75% of fixtures are completed, in this case Glasgow would get an extra few days to replace Hausl, but have had long enough to replace Howarth.
  17. We cant have only one 8pt rider in each team next season, at the moment 8 teams have at least 2 riders on 8pt average Those riders will be lost in the Championship next year. Build your team to the points limit, those who cant thats your own problem.
  18. We need to emulate the Polish model and reward the league winners with a big pot of cash to make it relevant. Similarly the GP’s must offer a large incentive for winning a round and the overall title given its success and status in the sport. Does anyone know how much more an Extraliga team gets for winning the final and what percentage that win adds to their overall income? Also what are the big bucks for winning a GP (per heat) bearing in mind it could involve 10 heats (3 sprint & 7 heats), compared to the irrelevant amounts on offer for a UK domestic heat?
  19. I'd be more worried about weakening the reserve berths. Maybe look for new 8 & 4 point riders. Not easy to find anyone at this stage of the season though.
  20. I've said that for 5 years now to the point of absolute frustration. However I'm convinced it will continue as this regardless.
  21. I gather the heavy rain just before the start didn't help with the track. And a few times during the day. My daughter and friend enjoyed even though I said the racing wasnt as good as Friday imo. They thought it wasn't too bad,and the atmosphere was good which helps of course.
  22. The bottom line is this... If there were several million pounds in prize money available then the sport would be seen as relevant, and would have consequence and jeopardy in every meeting, and would be followed by far, far many more people.. Even if NDL was the standard.... (Athough if there was big money in the UK sport then, naturally, that wouldn't be the case).... Darts is a perfect example of a sport which was followed by an older demographic and took place in big pubs, nightclubs, leisure centres and hotels around the country... With minimal prize money on offer, it took place in front of a few hundred, who sat often in silence during the throws, "best of order please", and then politely applauded when a game or set was won.. Then Sky, and more importantly, Barry Hearn came on board.. Big prize money brought big crowds, full of a much younger age demographic, in city centre venues, and also brought noise, atmosphere, and relevance, with olayers having to fight each season to keep their place in the top 16/32... Consequence and Jeopardy completely changed Darts, with even qualification tournaments being incredibly important to get through... Major sponsors and TV networks then organically came on board as the sport grew.... And more and more people have taken up the sport as they see the riches on offer, which then raises the standards... It will matter hardly one iota what UK Speedway does to race nigbts, league numbers, averages, admission prices etc etc etc.. Without that question of, (pardon the pun),... "What's actually riding on this meeting?"... Being answered with... "A hell of a lot!"... Without any prize to make the sport look relevant, and of a reasonable size, it will just keep ambling along, and just keep going through the motions of putting Speedway meetings on, regardless of being whether it is a credible offering or not.. And the fans wlll continue to vote with their feet..
  23. Don't know the story behind this but thought I'd share. Best new kits 2026-27 - vote for your top 10 - BBC Sport After Chelsea's 'speedway' wear last season it seems like these London marketing types have some sort of fascination with old time speedway. I imagine they've no idea that the sport still exists.
  24. Spot on. So long as UK keep to Monday & Thursday otherwise almost all of those in your list will leave UK.
  25. Having just watched last night's heat 14, I note nothing has been said about Battye's right elbow into Rushen's neck as he came out of gate 1 towards gate 2? Unsatisfactory (dangerous?) start as a bare minimum! Tsk tsk, these youngsters eh? what are we going to do with them....? Answers on a postcard to SCB Towers, Rugby.🤣
