  1. Past hour
  2. Just because he may score less doesn't mean Poole should get a facility
  3. Absolutely - athough I thought the Witches might have gone with Brennan at #5, because he's good a Leicester, while Ellis seems more inspired when paired with Doyle. Whatever the score over the two legs, the result won't be life-changing. In a week or so, it will be forgotten*, and everyone will be talking about 2026 ... * except for Gavan and Salty Sheffield 🤣
  4. It’s complicated, I wrote before about the need for 9 million zloty and the guarantor required for loan. Yesterday it was assessed as now 8.3 million due to the movement of clubs for Fajfer. This is the first move from the club to start the financial recovery and to show intent. Many clubs in the top league and M.2 wrote it would be better for stal to declare relegation before the match, there is heavy pressure. The club wrote a statement claiming they will fight and do what it takes to stay in the league, other top league teams wish the demise of Stal so they can secure Thomsen or Holder for cheap, and M.2 clubs the demise will mean one will gain automatic promotion. For other INFO regarding tomorrow: Fajfer is declared ZZ.
  5. The Ouch post says "Louis wouldn't put up with this", yet it's not obvious what Ouch assumes JL wouldn't put up with. Gavan is correct, JL is adored throughout the Witches fan base. He was a thoroughly professional rider and promoter, - traits which his son picked up and continues, and expects from everyone associated with the club. After the fiddling by Morris in 2024, the Regulations have been followed correctly this season. Sheffield fans are remarkably salty - why can't they accept that the cut-off was reached before the fixtures were completed? They didn't complain about finishing third a couple of years ago, when their team then went on to win the Grand Final. The reason the Tigers aren't in the Final this season is because they lost against Leicester - that's really quite easy to understand.
  6. It will be Ellis. Most speedway clubs are pony when it comes to updating social media. Ellis will probably score less than Lawson.
  7. certainly has the potential to resolve the lack of riders problem. you can imagine a few 'retired' racers would consider comebacks if they aren't required to take the risk of investing in a bike and engine. could even reduce costs if the procurement is centralised. ie for the bikes engines and tuning. got to be cheaper than individual riders each agreeing their own suppliers. also you could share the equipment across a number of tracks ie Edinburgh Friday, Berwick Saturday and Glasgow Sunday. this is also how someone makes money out of it. ie instead of say 10 tuners profiting from 10 riders each you get to say 2 tuners profiting from 50 riders, standard scale stuff. same with engine suppliers, tyres, mechanics even etc etc. you potentially move the cash outlay for the promoters to pre season when they've not had any (maybe sponsorship?) income but as I understand it plenty of riders receive a sign on fee for these purposes anyway, which would no longer be required. it sounds a bit like the sustainable future for a 2nd tier does this and don't they have a load of Gerhardt engines just sitting there collecting dust? your problem would be how do rider progress from using supplied equipment and support to being able to compete internationally or in the top league but I guess that's no different from a rider deciding if they want to invest in top level equipment now. at least they'd have a choice having perhaps impressed and earned some money from 2nd tier racing. it would also definitely facilitate the use of top tier tracks in an expanded 2nd tier. happy to help if you need any help on that procurement generating value for money point.
  8. it is a very simple idea, but complicated to get people and riders to agree to it.. but would be a great leveller, for the riders who dont have the big budgets that some of the top riders have, but it would be a great way to reset the British speedway leagues, this could thats why i said complicated., costs are the problem with speedway at our level of support , but probably cheapest way to restart, good luck with what ever you can come up with,
  9. Today
  10. That was down as family emergency though rather than compassionate leave. Howarth also missed a meeting due to family emergency i believe. On Redcars SM pages (mainly X) they are still saying Lawson, so who knows! 🙃🤷‍♀️
  11. It’s a simple idea but not simple to implement, there are factors like engines, finding a happy medium of what different riders would accept, you can’t just put a standard engine in and expect someone who is built like Dan bewley to ride the same engine as someone like matej zagar, there has to be a compromise between the 2, meet half way if you like, who supplies the engines ? and who services them? there are a whole variety of factors that are not obvious to the general fan but I believe it can be done but not overnight, it’s needs to be floated now and use 2026 to test and iron out the problems with 2027 to roll it out, it won’t happen though
  12. Not many got near Thompson to be fair.It put some of his Teammates to shame. IMO
  13. it is a very simple idea, but complicated to get people and riders to agree to it.. but would be a great leveller, for the riders who dont have the big budgets that some of the top riders have, but it would be a great way to reset the British speedway leagues, this could be for the semipro, riders.
  14. And what if someone better than Cairns & Rushden comes along in two years time? But couldn't get near Thomsen in his next ride & failed to score in his final ride.
  15. I have a plan around that very basic Idea but it has a lot more detail and and overcomes a lot of the issues that arise from the concept of outsourcing the equipment from the riders,I have spent a few months working on it, talking to some people in the sport who understand the workings of the concept, I am planning to float it on a podcast soon but I’m sceptical it will fly not because it’s a bad idea but because to get anything going in speedway someone has to be making money from it
  16. Did I dream it or did Sheffield get a facility for Jack Holder for family reasons earlier in the season?
  17. Is it time they split out the U21s from the whole SGP/SGP2 structure and replace the SGP2 with something more akin to the SEC? SGP2 then becomes a place where your Huckenbecks, Kvechs, etc. ride. Maybe they can offer a full SGP spot for the winner/top 3 (balanced out by a relegation spot(s) from the SGP). This way, we can find out how good a rider is amongst what would theoretically be the top 16-30 in the world. It also offers a nice route for the likes of Parnitskyi, Przyjemski, etc. to experience a season-long competition without being dumped into the GPs. They could even have it on a Friday night before a GP, offering something meaningful and competitive for fans to make a weekend of it.
  18. Well it’s good to see the Buxton name back, whatever their nickname is 👍 I’ll have to make a point of travelling to the Peak District next summer to take in a meeting (with my coat!).

  20. Yes, but don’t Poole get special treatment?🤨
  21. I fancy Ipswich overall but Leicester won't roll over like they did last season. Ipswich just have so much depth and quality all over it's hard to look past them over two legs
  22. heres a weird one, the clubs provide and maintain standard bikes, riders just turn up and ride them. they then control the costs of maintain equipment and riders get paid a lot less.
  23. Buxton Bosoms. Just in case it all goes ti*s up
  24. Watched the match last week he was brilliant .Past both Lebedevs and Vaculik.Very aware of what’s going on the the races for being so young.
  25. And he did it by passing them too not just gating over them
