  1. Past hour
  2. U19 final still to come at the GT tyres Northside arena . Team finals who wants to see them šŸ˜› By the way good luck to all pilots opposition teams in the finals 😁
  3. So many questions, in an ideal world the One League system is the way to go but it will have a dramatic effect on the way it operates with costs etc. No way will the likes of Kurtz , Bewley , Fricke , Doyle etc be able to ride in such a League even the so called lesser riders like Masters, Lawson, Harris (Heat leaders in both leagues) prefer and demand to ride in two British league sides to make a living. Its a complicated and sad way the British Leagues have evolved.
  4. Would the sprints be better if both riders started opposite each other on the straights and shown on a split screen like they do with cycling
  5. British speedway is so depleted that as a spectacle, one league is the only solution. The issue is subsequently whether or not this is viable for those who double up - Harris, Masters, Lawson, etc. - and most alarmingly, whether or not there are a sufficient amount of riders to build as many teams as one big league requires. Although probably necessary, reducing teams to five riders seems tinpot.
  6. The Sprint Races were only brought in to make the qualifying session watchable, which was fair enough imo because if there's Speedway on the Tv I'm going to watch it. The trouble is that the broadcast is that poorly put together it's barely worth watching and to just a sprinkling of people watching it live at the stadium is just embarassing!
  7. The winner of the SGP2 should definitely be nowhere near the main SGP series, it's generally years before they're anywhere near the level required to be in the main series if ever at all. The last WU21 Champion currently in the series is Max Fricke who won it in 2016, it's taken him 10 years to get from that level to his current level and he's still relying on wild cards to qualify.
  8. Cloak and dagger stuff from Bowes on Facebook. Very poorly written. ā€I love speedway, I ride in Poland, it’s been a busy season, I was criticised in Poland, I wanted to be at Poole, my season is overā€.. What? There’s such an emphasis put on Poland - the sparring match, the U24 spot, someone called Marek’s comments, etc. - that you assume the target of the statement is Poland. I can only assume the reference to clubs struggling financially and riders not being paid is in regard to Workington. Were the difficulties with travel to Poole the straw that broke the camel’s back? Who knows?
  9. When are the fixtures typically released? January?
  10. I don’t think you can underestimate the pressure our team building put on those two young men. The number six - Hodder to begin with and now Perry - had a remarkably tough gig, especially. Neither have had the protection of an even slightly more experienced reserve partner - a Grahn, a Starke or a Hook, for example - to bear a bit of the weight and afford them to the time to develop. I’m not sure what I’d do next season. I think a lot of that depends on how the month of October goes.
  11. Not for me, it has to be one or the other, especially with nothing other than pride riding on it, the "LCT" would become nothing more than an end of season fixture filler.
  12. U don't need to fret coz the Kermits don't get to Finals so u won't need to stand out in the cold wearing yer long johns and mittens! šŸ˜€
  13. Today
  14. Organisation and a strong hand on the tiller, no rearranging matches because a rider is a reserve in the Timbuktu Open Championship.
  15. he Workington club received information prior to fixture versus Berwick on Saturday 27th September that Fraser Bowes had refused to travel back to the UK from his base in Poland to participate in this final fixture. By Mr Bowes refusing to compete on the 27th of September he has breached SCB Regulation - 017.2 i) Failure to attend from a meeting duly listed on the official fixture list. Due to this breach of the Regulations, Mr Bowes SCB Registration will be suspended for a period of 28 days as from the 27th of September.
  16. Hannah is a decent rider would hold her own in the national league. Ask Ben trigger he followed her around a lot šŸ˜‚
  17. As we go into October, yet again various finals are still to be completed and the weather is changing. Yet their is talk of one league with more fixtures to cram in !! How will this work out ??
  18. I'm sure they are when they don't have a lot of fixtures to fit in. Oxford don't have anything else if they got through so it would have been easier.
  19. Another drab gp year ahead then. Same riders year on year . No challengers to Bartek other than Brady and Dan . The winner of SGP 2 should definitely be promoted to SGP1 the following year. Obviously a good rider to win that can definitely improve at the top level. Every sport has promotion as a prize . Speedway is different obviously. That’s why it’s struggling badly and the gp has become a procession.

  21. Actually as a rule Redcar are the easiest club to deal with
  22. Personally, I don't see the point of them. I'm not bothered about the points they can add or anything, I just don't really think they add anything in the current format. We went to the one in Wroclaw and it was just 30mins of a pair of riders going around followed by one race. Aside from a quick flash of the times now and again, there was no build up towards anything. It wasn't bad but I wouldn't rush back. Also, does qualifying really matter in speedway? I know some tracks will have their gate bias, but it's not like you're starting 15m behind, you're still getting 5 rides the same as everyone else.
  23. A good idea in the Premiership & Championship divisions would be for a trophy given to the team finishing in first place, call it 'League Winners Cup', then award another for the winner of the play offs, 'League Champions Trophy', keeps everyone happy....
  24. Yesterday
  25. If I was being pedantic I'd say they don't race in the Premier League, they race in the Premiership. Aside from that, I agree the points for draws is daft, I see no reason why both teams can't just score a point without a superheat. But the aggregate points is a good rule. Even removing the extra points from draws Sheffield would still finish first. After all that, finishing top doesn't make you the league winners, as much as I think it should do.
  26. It also came out in a recent audit, that Stal were never paid by an organisation (not named) for Gorzow GP in ā€˜21, ā€˜22 and ā€˜24. 2025 GP profits had to be used to subsidise the lost payments from the before years. If this wasn’t the case the club would almost have had no debt by the end of this calendar year. In addition it was also mentioned the play down matches with Częstochowa and Bydgoszcz have cost Stal a further 1.2 million zloty for running stadium costs and rider costs. 30th of September (Tuesday) is an official meeting between the city and the club.
  27. There’s already 5 teams from this years prem for 2026 - The top four of 2025 plus Stars & Oxford although as the Cheetahs. But you may be correct that three other promotions may join the top flight to give an eight team Prem
  28. Photo of both guys in Stal before Sadowski left the country and never returned. Jerzy Synowiec. & Sadowski
