That was the era I really started watching, great times, I have a memory of a fantastic race between Kelly and Kenny Carter one lovely Sunday afternoon.

Expecting the standard to be below the current NL as they won’t pay for the likes of Lambert, Scott, Mulford etc. Be interesting if the dates clash with other National League fixtures as where will they get riders from ?

I was an Area Manager covering Bradford for one of the UK's biggest businesses... And one of my stores had, (using loyalty card info), a 95% Asian customer base.. Hence, the range of products I put in was very much tailored for sub continent customers... The store in question had 30,000 visits per week... Definelty not a city with enough of a demographic to follow Speedway I would suggest... ..

I’ll have a bash at possibles…. Kerr, Mountain, Barker, S.Lambert, R. Lambert ( unlikely ! ) , D.Phillips ( if still riding )……now I’m struggling….. -
As recent history has shown the local area has no desire for motorsport in the area or rugby ! If you have driven around the area you will release that the inhabitants are mainly Asian and they just don’t get motorsports so any fan base would have to travel and combine that with the costs of upgrading and developing a dilapidated stadium means it’s never going to happen no matter how many times people insist on bringing it up on this forum.

Looking to head over to Poland for the weekend of 24/04 and hoping to take in the Leszno meeting. Does anyone know when dates for that weekend will be confirmed? -
Agreed would have been one of the few who could have made things difficult for Bartoz

Well done Plymouth. Always enjoy watching the racing there on BSN. Always close and no one has the chance to race off into the distance. All the best for the new season!
-
So @lewy you have kept your hands in your pocket for another year 🤪 good news for Plymouth after no main sponsor last season

Think Jaimon Lidsey is worth a shot

More chance of speedway returning to the Shay than that happening.
-
Well worth a visit. Fixtures look attractive, especially if the provisional ones come to fruition.

Wondering why there no enthusiasm to build a purpose built track for cars and bikes at Bradford. Always seems to be no objection to the noise and would get away from the bulls who's recent financial history is poor they are in and out of odsal more than a guest at a speedway meeting

When is the sliding roof going to be in place? Maybe Speedway will relaunch there then?

Supplementary Reg 31. (as of Feb 01/26).... Any Swedish rider, who hasnt ridden in either of fhe UK two top leagues for a "few" years, (let's keep it ambiguous), and whose surname has two lots of consecutive consonants in it, comes in at an average of 4.50...

A spearhead of Brennan, Lawson and Musielak is very good in a weakend League imo. Musielak although coming off a bad season, Is still a much better rider than his GSA imo. Riding for Birmingham must have been a nightmare considering Perry Barr's dust bowl. Lawson will score points almost everywhere and is a Track specialist around KL & LEI as well as Ipswich. Brennan although not a No.1 (Yet) is only going to get better year on year.

The executive stand at Odsal is situated where the old 1980's/90's speedway pits used to be on the 3rd and 4th bend. It is still possible to run speedway at Bradford but extra safety fencing and slight bend realignment would likely be required on that 3rd and 4th bend. The main reason speedway hasn't returned to Odsal is the very high costs involved in making the track suitable for speedway, building new speedway pits and signing a team plus weekly running costs. This is when one considers that in Bradfords last season in 1997 they won the inaugural Elite League with an excellent, exciting team that included Havelock, Loram and Screen yet often struggled to attract crowds of 4 figures which resulted in a big loss. The closure was probably heavily influenced by these losses although the Ham promotion at the time claimed it was pending stadium redevelopment that made them end the speedway.

Ipswich Witches 2026
dontforgetthefueltapsbruv replied to TTT's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I've heard this too via a source I would trust but the source of my source could be throwing out bait to see who blabs!! It has been a very tight lipped ship this year I understand that the meetings raced after the cut off will not be included in the rolling averages for team building purposes This is in direct contradtion to the regulations as written So anything could happen depends on who it suits and if their face fits..... -
As long as Ipswich were interested in Richard, It made no sense for him to line-up for Northampton imo. Just like any British Rider, You'd want to maximise earnings. Option A - Ride a track that you know you can score big points on. Option B - Ride a track that you've never ridden before and may not like it.

Come the end of May, we will all be pining, and reminiscing, for "the good old days" of November 25 to March 26...
