GP line-up for 2026
RPNY replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
This years line up was very poor. Lambert (who I am fan of) was very lucky to qualify for next year. His form was terrible. Hope I'm wrong but it'll be almost impossible for Kurtz to repeat that form of the last few months. We hoped Holder Lambert and Bewley could put up a title challenge but they are way off that. Simple fact is that last time BZ didnt win a world championship the 2 guys either side of him on the podium were the only 2 that would have given him trouble for the next few years. And despite the fact Russians can compete in Tennis, The Olympics, cycling and comically other Motorsports, they have been banned from the SGP. Its pathetic and we've been robbed of a decent series - Today

GP line-up for 2026
racers and royals replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Polish media are reporting that UK based Mayfield Sport management are poised to be the GP promoters from 2026. Richard Coleman and his wife seem to be the 2 directors, and it was Mayfield Sport that ran the 2023 Cardiff GP presumably on behalf of WBD. They are based in Brackley. Several things are on Companies house including information that this company was only incorporated in August this year, however there is information in the public domain about previous companies and even a winding up petition. -

Kurtz was a revelation, but for me Lebedevs made the big step this season, was in the mix all year. Lambert was poor ,to me if his gating lets him down he can’t produce. -
Probably depreciated to be worth less than dust now though... depending on how much they paid for them of course 💰

hes been announced in the initial Australia squad.

I'd forgotten about them.

I thought JD announced his retirement from competing for team Australia a few years back?
-
I think Ipswich are favourites and I'm expecting them to win it all things being equal but I think they will be made to gallop at times rather than canter by Sheffield or Leicester.

I don't think Brexit and Covid helped the number of Poles travelling to Cardiff seemed to drop off a cliff post 2020 and agreed the year Bewley one it the surface was truly terrible which would have killed 20-30% of the spectators from ever coming back. Despite being a far from ideal location Odsal did produce some great racing in the two world finals I witnessed there.

Jonus Jeppesen announced for Poole's Blue Riband on 24th. Be interesting to see how he goes on his first visit!

They could have made those quotes from him sound more realistic. "The boy Bartosz is a top, top rider" “You will never get a better chance to win a race than heat 2 at Belle Vue. My missus could have won that one.”
-
No, because the league matches haven't been completed yet. 😉
-
Tyres and obsolete GTR engines?
-
Depends if the Sheffield match can be held and Sheffield win the league

Abbreviated accounts are not very informative so it is hard to be certain. I suspect note 4 and accounting policy 2.6 of the amended 2023 accounts are the key. Or alternatively it may be mis-accounting for transfer of BSPA funds into BSPL in 2020 (is there a fund where members bonds are held that was not initially included?) But I also note that 2020 was covid year, so could it be mis-treatment of deferred TV rights income? How about covid loans that subsequently were converted into grants without the change being reflected in the accounts? My question is what is that £200k plus in stock? [Retired chartered accountant]
