It is a "no brainer" because it is Smolinski.Nuff said
pedropete 0 Posted October 12, 2008 Good idea KrisB. Why have a German no hoper in it in Poland? Will hardly have hundreds of Germans streaming over the border to support him. Smolinski is a reserve/second string at best. Let Holder have the ride and a prelude to what he might be able to do if included in next years series. Why Holder surely it should be the World under 21 Champion
Ghostwalker 1,864 Posted October 12, 2008 Why Holder surely it should be the World under 21 Champion No it shouldnt. why should anyone else then Smolinski get it? It is still the German GP and Smolinski is the one who was given the WC for the German GP.
iris123 21,135 Posted October 12, 2008 Just to update on this..... Leszek Tyllinger the Boss at Polonia Bydgoszcz was in Gelsenkirchen yesterday. And he has stated that the Wildcard next weekend will be Smolinski and the track reserves will be Kroner and Wölbert. That has given Tobi a bit of a problem as himself and Smoli were supposed to be riding in a meeting at Tobi's fathers track Dohren. That will probably be put back a week now. So carry on your discussion of who should be given the WC by all means

So carry on your discussion of who should be given the WC by all means We''ll all get to see Sajfutdinov in the GP's soon enough . Therefore it's quite right Smolinski should retain his place in the field . Why should he miss out due to German inefficiency
iris123 21,135 Posted October 12, 2008 (edited) Huh? I'll try and help you.... "Following adverse weather conditions last week and during the construction of the track at VELTINS-Arena, Gelsenkirchen, Germany, the FIM Jury has decided it is necessary to postpone the 2008 FIM German Speedway Grand Prix due to track safety concerns. The event will now take place on 18 October 2008, at ZKS Polonia Stadium, Bydgoszcz, Poland, at 1900h" See the German GP will now take place in Poland. No change of name or anything. No cancellation of the German GP and a completely new GP put on instead.Just a postponement and a change of venue.Just that this happens to be in another country.Although it was at one time part of Germany We''ll all get to see Sajfutdinov in the GP's soon enough . Therefore it's quite right Smolinski should retain his place in the field . Why should he miss out due to German inefficiency It wasn't us guvner. The Danes didn't put covers on the barge.Honest Edited October 12, 2008 by iris123

tigerblues 10 Posted October 12, 2008 (edited) Plain and simple, Chris Holder should be offered the chance next week Really? No it shouldnt. why should anyone else then Smolinski get it? It is still the German GP and Smolinski is the one who was given the WC for the German GP. I agree with this. Why all this "to show what he could do next year"? What happened to him not doing the GPs next year even if he was asked? They were his own words weren't they? Edited October 12, 2008 by tigerblues
richsimpson 21 Posted October 12, 2008 (edited) Plain and simple, Chris Holder should be offered the chance next week Should be Smolinski, Holder wouold be a good Wild Card but few others in line before him. Good idea KrisB. Why have a German no hoper in it in Poland? Will hardly have hundreds of Germans streaming over the border to support him. Smolinski is a reserve/second string at best. Let Holder have the ride and a prelude to what he might be able to do if included in next years series. Usual cr@p being spouted! Its a German GP with German Wildcard, at least it should be. No doubt its Steves anti Coventry side coming out of him again. Odd really as he spends most of his tim on the Cov threads Edited October 12, 2008 by richsimpson
noggin 1,393 Posted October 12, 2008 The organisers have already made themselves the laughing stock of world sport,so changing the wild card would make them look even more sillier.if thats possible.Martin deserves his chance the same as the other wildcards have. salty 2,211 Posted October 12, 2008 Joke thread. Clearly Smolinski will retain his place in the event and rightly so. If anyone else needed to be chosen all common sense points to Sajfutdinov as he is the double Under 21 Champ and it is now being held on his own track. Holder will get his chance next year. KEITH M 850 Posted October 12, 2008 Why have a German in it in Poland? Will hardly have hundreds of Germans streaming over the border to support him. Let Holder have the ride And the place is going to be awash with Australians who have made the short trek over from Australia to support their man
