iris123 20,993 Posted April 10, 2013 That`s some rent 4.5 m.Lets hope it gets the go-ahead Guess we don't know over what period that has to be payed, but looks enormous for a speedway club !!! Fingers crossed this gets the go-ahead,and fingers crossed that the guys behind the speedway have got their sums right Surely though they are only going to host SWC rather than GPs with only 6,000 capacity???? SCB 0 Posted April 10, 2013 So it's only £75,000 a year. Not a huge amount then as the Malletts were paying only a little less for Newport.

iris123 20,993 Posted April 10, 2013 It's a lot of money if the fans don't come back Yes as you say it is a lot as that is just the basics without all the other payments on top .Have to hope they pull in some big sponsors and get plenty of media coverage to bring back the ex fans and pull in many new fans to make this a success
PHILIPRISING 7,298 Posted April 10, 2013 DON'T forget they won't have to rely just on turnstile income, will enjoy all the proceeds of the bars and restaurants and will have no rent to pay. Plus, hopefully, the grandstand will be used throughout the week, again providing a useful revenue stream.

John Leslie 3,213 Posted April 10, 2013 Guess we don't know over what period that has to be payed, but looks enormous for a speedway club !!! 60 years. So £75K per year, and that's from the whole stadium not just Speedway. Looks like Rugby League, Football, Hockey, pop concerts could also be renting the stadium. Also presume the rent will be staggered over the 60 years, as £75k in 2074 will probably only be the average rent of a 3 bed semi Surely though they are only going to host SWC rather than GPs with only 6,000 capacity???? 6,000 is the capacity for Elite League. Temporary stands will take it to 18,000+ capacity if needed for bigger events

Fingers crossed this gets the go-ahead,and fingers crossed that the guys behind the speedway have got their sums right Surely though they are only going to host SWC rather than GPs with only 6,000 capacity???? 6000 is the basic capacity, for SWC temporary grandstands will be put on back straight raising capacity to 10,000 and for GP's extra stands put on bends too raising it to 16,000 (off top of my head) This is the report being discussed today : http://bellevuespeedway.net16.net/bellevuesportsvillage.pdf
ABS 231 Posted April 10, 2013 Interesting to see a piece on this on BBC TV local news this morning. Watching this, hope the rubber stamps are out in the town hall today.

I think the new place will certainly bring some fans back, I was a regular at Hyde Road, but one visit to Kirky Lane was my first and last! Good luck to the Aces. PHILIPRISING 7,298 Posted April 10, 2013 I HEAR that the rubber-stamping has taken place and it is all systems go. Great news for Belle Vue and speedway as a whole.
