Something Got To Change (sheffield)

Recommended Posts

Stead , no complaints

Poole , expensive average wise for the points return , and should be getting back in the swing by now , not to mention how unreliable his bikes are.

Lanham , same as Poole and not even doing it on the tric tracks that he is supposed to be good on

Compton , didn;t do it at reserve ... so not gonna do it in the team

Procter, nightmare

Nielson , 4 points is a decent night for him which says it all but there is signs of improvement.

Bates , scores plenty of points ... for any team apart from Sheffield

This is not a pop at the new promotion because it looked a decent team on paper before the season started.

Not got any names as replacements but somethings got to happen !

How can you say Compton is not performing ,forget the level of rider he was (in part 1 of his career) and accept the rider he is now .LL sadly needs a small home track and would be a candidate for asking to move on along with Proctor who just cannot put it together in the PL.Poole IMO will come good but needs some decent kit and maybe his confidence will improve .

Lanhams knocking on now, sad to see him struggling as he was brilliant for newport. His three seasons with us he was one of the most exciting Wasps , certainly wasnt the gating tart he was made out to be made a few passes most meetings inside and out, his races with joe screen were superb.

Was a class performer in the pl days for arena too, was one of the best riders in the league when i first started attending.

Very sad to see him scoring 1's and 2's.

But for the so-called MC of the BSPA, he would now be a Diamond pushing for full international honours- something they seem to find less important than balancing their own personal agendas.

Nonsense. It is quite clear in the sports regulations that riders on assessed averages can't double up.

You'd think that your promoter (who is also on the MC) would know that, so if anyone had an agenda it was him.

Proctor was making starts tonight but didn't appear to have the speed and was being passed to easily. If he is struggling for speed at a tight track like Brough then he is bound to find it tough at Sheffield. Absolutely no lack of effort though and he is obviously a miles better rider than he is showing at the moment. Must be massively frustrating for him. Hope he can turn it around soon as he should be a strong heat leader in the PL.

Proctor started disastrously for Plymouth last season but after a few weeks was the No1 they signed him to be.

I think he can turn it around.

I do too, no lack of effort from Ty but he does seem to be down on speed, hopefully this can be sorted soon. Arguably Ty is getting harder racing in the 5 slot in the Premier League than the 4 slot in the Elite League, certainly Josh Bates is given his scores for Leicester and scores for us. Think Lanham and Poole are more cause for concern. After last night the Lanham/Compton partnership clearly doesn't work as they kept getting in each other's way and allowed the Newcastle riders to get away. Edited by Tigerite

Agree with Tigerite, try Lanham and Proctor together with Compton at 5. Alternatively Compton and Proctor together with a new number 5. Poole down to reserve is a possibility also, but unsure who should go Bates or Neilsen.

Change is required.

No it didn't - it looked as bad on paper as what it's turned out to be on track.

It was a risky team that sacked a risky rider for a crap rider. Turns out he's been even crapper than even some of us who thought he (Proctor) would be!

Proctor is having a nightmare time in the PL. Robert Lambert was going to sign for Newcastle but the BSPA turned permission down so maybe if Sheffield come in with an offer then young Robert might be tempted.

Whatever the reasons that stopped Lambert from signing for Newcastle are still there surely, if they weren't I`m sure Newcastle would have him in their 1-7 as quick as you could say management committee.

The BSPA rejected the Diamonds initial 1-7 that included Robert Lambert. Surely the only reason why the BSPA rejected the 1-7 was because Robert's average didn't fit?

I thought he was rejected because a rider with an assessed average could not double up?

Nope because he is an assessed rider in the EL he can't double down until he get a proper average in the EL.

According to the BSPA site Lamberts average is now 5-79, so you`d think he can double up with a PL team.

If it's allowed that average converts to 9.26 I think. That's a big risk for a premier league to take at this stage of his career as he would be straight in at No 1.

The rule actually states that the rider must have an established CMA from the previous season so even now that Lambert has an average he still cant double up this year.

It may be a silly rule but it there and cant be changed mid season.
