Berwick Bandits V Glasgow Tigers (pl: Saturday, Aug 2nd)

Recommended Posts

Now that's a surprise. If so Berwick will run out of dates.

Enjoyed the world cup in the Grove, nice to be in the old stamping ground with a load of speedway friends. They only have 1 weekday spare, and the 27th Sept after that 18th and 25th Oct

might have to do what they did in 2011, when they rode on friday oct 28th against Newport and approach the council for a bit of leeway if weather does not improve

Forecast is not looking good for the weekend. Berwick having absolutely no luck with weather this season, most weeks it has been beautiful 6 days a week, then Saturday afternoon / evening it starts to rain, only to dry up about 8 - half 8. Don't know how many more rain-offs the club will be able to take financially. Hopefully we can dodge the showers.

Aye, and then it blows up North for Glasgow on Sunday.

If only we had a micro climate like the "perfectionists"!

Financially the last thing Berwick need is another rain-off as these recent rain-offs must have hit the club hard, not to mention the fact we might struggle to get all our meetings in by the cut off.

Unfortunatly the weather is something we have no control of, what can you do about it.......absolutely nothing.

And the best of it is we are having one of our better seasons!

What makes it worse is that for the last two Saturday home meetings Berwick will have had to pay out on expenses as the riders have reached Shielfield and been ready to go, both times the weather has been fine right up to late afternoon before the rain came.

Who would be a promoter in this instance, unless we get some leeway from the Council to run more off night meetings, we wont get our meetings done by the cut-off date, double headers would be an option but they would hit the club financially even more than rain-offs.

So what's the Glasgow team? What's the big secret?

IMO - would any changes not need to be declared today in order to be able to ride on Saturday night!?

If a new 1/7 has been submitted today, it'll be OK if approved tomorrow -- it is when it is submitted that counts.

But what is it? Tigers have plenty of points available.

If it's what I was told last night then the Weege may have something to finally feel happy about :approve:
