Leicester V Poole, Saturday 23rd August 2014

Recommended Posts

I'm not even going to bother to correct you. If that's what you believe fair enough.

However, It's a speedway meeting delays happen all the time, it's not the end of the world is it. Maybe you should think about things a little before your next post. Instead of highlighting things completely out of context and making mountains out of mole hills.

Note to self................Music visit Poole Speedway where everything runs to time, safety fence never needs repair and everything goes like clockwork..... ;)

I didnt realise all the benefits of a curfew !! not complaining about fence repair delay, pawlicki was badly hurt, before pawlickis accident the meeting had several delays, the tractor had done more laps than the riders

Whilst I think that last night's delays were a bit ott when the Lions rode at Wimborne Road in June the start was delayed because the sun was in the rider's eyes!

That is understandable no problem with that, start was delayed last night for sun too.

It makes me laugh with people moaning about the delays. Strong sun light down the back straight, Do you want riders to ride blind?? Heat 2, Matt Williamson falls. Heat 4. Matt Williamson falls. Heat 5. Pawliki falls, air fence needs repair, medic spends time with rider, county ambulance called. Heat 7, Josh Bates falls. Heat 8. Cook replaces Pawlicki, given extra time as rode in heat 7. Heat 9. Matt Williamson falls again. Heat 14, Kyle Newman brakes the tapes, goes off 15mtrs. Heat 15. Darcy Ward falls, does not clear the track, so rerun needed. As for the length of the interval, all riders walk the whole stadium collecting for the Ben Fund, over £1000 collected.

So all in all it was Leicesters fault that the meeting went on for longer than it should of !! I DONT THINK SO !!

Whatever happens managers should always put there No.1 out in Heat 15 in my opinion. Yes its a gamble if the rider hasn't done well that evening but they are a No.1 for reason.

I wonder if the Lakeside fans would agree with you? :P

You should team up with Muddlo, and become the new Laurel and Hardy... ;)

I think in this case it was a no brainer to use Cook, he is a track specialist who has just had four unbeaten rides and had beaten Mads 2-0 on the night. You would choose your number one if you have three or four riders on similar scores but not if another option had scored seven more points. Never mind hindsight, try foresight.

Apart from the decision to put Ward out in heat 15 I could not understand the Poole tactics in that heat. The most match points they could get was 3 if they got at least 3 points in the heat. So surely the plan was let Jason go, take Mads wide and out of the play on bends 1 & 2 and settle in for a comfortable 3 – 3 behind Jason. Bends 1 & 2 went according to plan but then the Poole riders seemed to be trying to catch Jason instead of team riding with the result that Darcy fell – at least he had the sense to stay down and get the race stopped for a re-run. Great race by Jason in the re-run – worth the admission money alone!

Not for the first time, eh? Another distasteful aspect of Ward's conduct.

Ward seems particularly adept at it, as he did to Wolves last season. Once a cheating scumbag, always a cheating scumbag!

Well Bates got up and cleared the track when Leicester were conceding a 5-1.

Also, starts called back for no reason, so Newman & Janowski weren't rolling then.

This is a professional sport. Its what riders do - like diving at football.
