There is no doubt Edinburgh have assembled a strong side but some of the excuses from their fans when things are not right.

 

The only person to moan about the track was Cook. We all know he is a whinger and a moaner and spits his dummy out. Seen it twice at Ipswich. Once with Barker and then last season on the wrong end of a 5-1 he turned round after the finish line and trundled back to the pits, no sportsmanship unlike Masters who shook hands with those who beat him.

Funnily enough Cook was fine when he was in front, misses the gate and moans.

 

So what if the track was wet? Cant all be slick concrete. It apparantly wasnt dangerous so why do people moan.

And were did you get that from AFAIK Glasgow were willing to start the meeting and continue until the downpour during Ht 11 so how can you speak for Glasgow riders and what they wanted to do.

Its the best i have seen Wolbert ride the track in his 3 rides since last April also Edinburgh riders 3 to 7 tried in every race

Some riders just get on with it some don't, Hard to judge anybody yesterday , let's wait till the weather is fine and the track is not too wet before we see how good both teams are, That wasn't proper speedway racing yesterday but all riders gave it a go, so we'll done to them.

As john Campbell says it wouldn't have went ahead if it was a normal meeting. A glasgow club official even told an edinbrugh fan that the meeting would have been off any other week but they decided to run it anyway.

 

Lets not consider riders safety as we need to show off our fancy new stadium.

So it was the Glasgow management.who said the meeting must go ahead, Here was me thinking the referee makes the final decision if a match goes ahead???

The track was rideable and for the determined few (our reserves) raceable, if you chose to go wide enough. At the start if you were behind, then you got filled in.

 

Just a pity that the races took so long to get started and a few more "you have 2 minutes" would have moved things along.

 

Pity Erik the "kinder" fell and popped the fence as this added to the delay, and we could have done without the track grading in my opinion. (just pulled mud back on to the drier racing line)

 

However quite why we didn`t start until 3-15 surprised those of us on the back straight who had adjusted watches forward........

 

Cookie clearly does not enjoy heavy tracks (remember the 4`s at leicester?) though he did show some ball5 in heat 5 between the 2 Tiggers, so it was rideable, especially with clear track in front.

 

tigs deserved their win so roll on Friday. Any chance Dickie lawson pulls a sickie???
