Rye House V Sheffield 18th April

A change in riding order for Sheffield-

1.Stead

2.Birks

3.Bellego

4.Proctor

5.Compton

6.Bates

7.Sissis

Don't see the sense in putting Andre at 5 personally, but suppose we'll see how we go on. Can't see us sticking to that going into Thursday.

. I kind of get it. I think having a rider at 5 who can gate is an advantage when they're paired with a reserve three times. The risk with Bellego is that he gets caught up in traffic.

Shame we're missing Nikolaj, but the top 4 are in decent form. Covatti is hit and miss, but Branford had looked decent in the Raiders meetings. Should have the measure of Bates & Sissis.

Hope the track is prepared as last week.

He is, but he's been on fire recently. Paid max on Thursday at Foxhall and a 14 point haul at Somerset last night so could be good timing for the Rockets!

Jack Lee shuffling the pack to suit the opposition track has worked a treat. What a team, but what a stroke of genius by the manager, great win for the Tigers!!!!

Simons crash was horrific. Clipped the fence on exit of B4 and went over the handlebars. David could do nothing to avoid him and ran into rider & bike sustaining a leg injury. We were ushered out of the stadium with Simon still receiving treatment. He was conscious. Reports are he was knocked out briefly.

As for the meeting, just a bad night at the office. Sheffield fully deserved the win, out gating us for the majority of races. We definitely missed Nikolaj, RR was a shocker. Can't fault the guest reserves, they put a lot of effort in.

Ref missed most of the Sheffield rollers, but then again the Rye riders were guilty of the same later on, the ref saw those though.

Steve Boxall also re injured his damaged shoulder, but went home after he withdrew from the meeting, deciding not to visit hospital until tomorrow.

Best wishes to Simon and David after what sounds a horrible crash, hopefully both will be able to take their place in Sheffield's fixtures very soon.

Sh*t posted that after heat 14, then the unthinkable happened! Hope things aren't too bad for either rider. After the brilliant start the team has made to the season we can only hope for the best.

It appears that riders from both teams were struggling with the track from time to time throughout the meeting, according to the texter. Anyone else at the track notice that or was it a sort of excuse for the poor home team performance, or was it that the Tigers were just too good for them?

Quite ironic that the speedway gp guys called to abandone the meeting on an unsatisfactory track and now we have two injured riders riding on an unsaticactory track ...

Sheffield simply out gated us Steve. Even when we gated we looked uncomfortable. You could see the Tigers were really up for it tonight. It's a shame it ended that way. Stead was terrific. You know it's a bad night for you when Bellego wins a heat at Rye.

Who's saying the Rye track was unsatisfactory?
