A rather convenient injury for David Howe isn't it?

I am sure the doctor that diagnosed his injury made it up what a silly comment to make on an injured rider.

ask nemo to cover for a while (if his average fits) while david gets his shoulder sorted.

Shoulder injuries are nasty ended a few riders career, think it could be the end for him given the trouble over the last few seasons.wish him a good recovery though.

I hope your not right on that one. Totally echo the wish for a good recovery.Would be good to see him bow out on his own terms rather than being forced by injury.

It does however bring into focus the MC decision to sanction him as a replacement as it significantly enhances the r/r / guest /new rider options . This is the real impact of choosing not to implement the available regulation at redeclaration.

Given the nature of the sport shoulder dislocations are one of the worst injuries IMO .It does show up the flaw in the the rules but Hey Ho nothing new there in Speedway. not worth worrying about, the Team that can utilise the guests best will win the league anyway.

One rule that certainly needs changing, the fact teams can have a guest at no1 throughout the season handpicking the most on form rider to guest  . Stead, Allen, Auty ..... You should be made to replace riders after a certain amount of time !!!!

In a perfect world you would, but with Stead been the top rider in the Premier League for about the last 15 months replacing a rider of that class is difficult.

Also a shortage of class riders wanting to ride over here does not help.

It does give an unfair advantage being able to use a guest continually. Our no1 just dropped to reserve , you have to get on with it, and so should every other team. I'm sure if you had to use r/r each week from only your own team there suddenly would be someone signed in the no1 slot

Unfair advantage when that rider is the top rider in that league?

Fail to see what your number dropping to reserve has to do with it.

Shortage of riders overall! Sending Ty Proctor home on a technicality was a nonsense, perhaps the points limit for overseas riders should be lowered to 5.50, would still keep the likes of Campton out but would mean some of the better Australians could still come here and bolster the PL. We simply don't have enough British riders to fill our teams.

How would Ty Proctor being here help with replacing Simon Stead?

Think Sheffield have in the main utilised the guest facility for Steady really well this season, however nobody can replace him both for his scores and leadership within the pits. He was immense at the start of this season 6 maximums out of 7 says it all. Sheffield are weakened regardless of guest
