dontforgetthefueltapsbruv 10,706 Posted May 4, 2016 Would Adam Ellis leave Eastbourne in the NL for Rye in the PL?just a thought re Adam - he doesnt have a 2015 PL average. Now that he hasnt started 2016 in the PL can he still come in on the 2014 figure or would he have to convert his new EL average?????
hackneyrocket 139 Posted May 5, 2016 The promotion should act like Peterborough have done. Show the paying public some respect and give us a product worth watching. Rob Branford would be a much better option at reserve, he never knows when he's beat and is a great team player.

Fire in his belly and never say die attitude. That's what people like to see. I can see a bit of Garrity in him when he first came to Rye and could be bothered. Shame the promoters dumped Rob when Robert Lambert upped his demands. Was great watching Rob & Ben team riding on Sunday Edited May 5, 2016 by Shads
hackneyrocket 139 Posted May 5, 2016 I think they would make a good reserve pairing, as you said seems to care about the team he's riding for, definitely not one to pull out of a challenge.
tocha 308 Posted May 5, 2016 Only if he withdraws his services/retires. I don't believe a rider on an assessed average cannot be sacked. The ruling where such a rider had to be included in a re-declaration stemmed from previous seasons where he would qualify for a true average once he had ridden 4 home and 4 away. I think the promoters have cocked this up just as they have done regarding EDR averages so may need to amend the ruling. Rye are not the only team affected by this. GWC 495 Posted May 5, 2016 Seems strange that when Klindt pulled out they opted for an untried Dane with no track record in Denmark were they expecting another BuskJacobson! With hindsight they could have used anybody and waited for Rob to turn up. Why offer him a team place and then withdraw it.

I think the problems arose when another rider chose to ride elsewhere, anyway water under the bridge , it gave Robert the chance to stay home for his sisters wedding , which we were pleased about because of the later start for the NL, he's happy there and believes in what the promotion are trying to do there, hppefully some other doors will open eventually. Ben91 1,743 Posted May 6, 2016 (edited) The rule is in place to stop teams signing duff foreigners, as frustrating as it is as a Rye fan it's a good rule and we've fallen foul of it. The lesson is to do plenty of research when bringing a rider over. There are so many riders in this league who are still under the assessed average they first came over on, that says it all. Letting NBJ go is something we'll be frustrated about for years, that and building a team around a rider who hadn't signed a contract show there is a lot to learn for the new promotion. That said there's a better feeling around the place and the new promotion are exactly that, new. They will learn from their mistakes hopefully. Karger has to go somehow and Branford come in though, plus a change further up the order. Edited May 6, 2016 by Ben91
waco 1,026 Posted May 6, 2016 But the rule you say is a good rule Ben91, says they cant do what your saying should happen ie, Branford for Karger?
Brian 63 Posted May 6, 2016 But the rule you say is a good rule Ben91, says they cant do what your saying should happen ie, Branford for Karger? The rule doesn't stop Karger deciding the PL is not for him and deciding to leave.
Ben91 1,743 Posted May 6, 2016 But the rule you say is a good rule Ben91, says they cant do what your saying should happen ie, Branford for Karger? It is a good rule, there's no two ways about it. Karger would have to step down but that could always happen.
Triple.H. 1,988 Posted May 6, 2016 Say Karger got injured (say a broken wrist ) not wishing injury on anyone. He's out for 2 months and Rye House sign/use a replacement do they have to reinstate him in the team or is that a get out clause. Maybe he can't even sign for another British team. Panthers89 1,922 Posted May 6, 2016 So Scunny now have Holub on a 3.00 average, does that mean Kargers average will drop?
Alan_Jones 1,005 Posted May 6, 2016 So Scunny now have Holub on a 3.00 average, does that mean Kargers average will drop? That has to be a mistake. Up until last Friday he was a 7 point assessed rider and yesterday he dropped to 3 when he should never drop below 5.
