It was announced last Sunday that Richie W was guesting for us......

It's very early days, but the weather forecast for Sunday doesn't look too clever. Let's hope it's wrong.

The Newcastle websites shows the teams as follows: -

Second leg at Newcastle at 8.00pm: SCB referee– Peter Clarke

Newcastle Sapphire Engineering Diamonds

1. Steve Worrall 8.08
2. Christian Henry 4.97 r/r
3. Richie Worrall 7.22 guest for Lewis Kerr (7.52 enhanced)
4. Anton Rosen 6.00
5. Ludvig Lindgren © 7.02
6. Simon Nielsen 4.04
7. Tero Aarnio 4.10

Glasgow Tigers

1 Nick Morris 8.45
2 James Sarjeant 5.37
3 Aaron Summers © 7.41
4 Kauko Nieminen r/r 7.25
5 Richard Lawson 8.43
6 Victor Palovaara 4.68
7 Hynek Stichauer 3.00

Newcastle have one 8 point plus rider in the "Nice Twin" Steve Worrall and his "Evil Twin" Richie is back where he belongs. I am sure the Worralls and Ludde will be able to stop the Glasgow heatleaders, Morris, Summers and Lawson from doing too much damage. With a probable deficit from the first leg we need, Anton and the reserves to pick up enough points to get us an aggregate win

Palovaara crocked in Sweden, with Liam Carr in at Ashfield. Would suppose that he is coming to Brough also. Simon and Tero should have the reserve end tied up, so down to the heat leaders to do their bit and prolong our season. Fingers crossed.

Well done to Newcastle said today that over both legs our tail would be too long.

Unfortunately injuries to key riders happen and the Diamonds took full advantage no excuses though best team over the 2 legs won

Hopefully Kauko and Victor will be back for Rye House in 2 weeks time and we can re - group for the play off's as we seem to have had a slump in form with the exception off Aaron & Rich but I am confident Nick will be back on it quickly and Kauko hits the ground running.

Best wishes to the Diamonds against the dark side in the semi's well done today lads.

Over two legs newcastle won. We didn't have the depth we've showed all season so far which is a worry for playoffs. Well done newcastle beat them pesty monarchs....if you can.

Exactly what one of your travelling fans said to me as he left- just in a slightly more forthright manner. Very surprised at the score line which belies just how good it was as a spectacle. Would have made a hell of an advert for the sport had the SKY cams been there.

Good meeting until the track got a bit dusty over the last 4 or 5 heats. Glasgow's tail always looked likely to be decisive against a strong Diamonds reserve pair and so it proved although Lawson was very poor tonight. Until Morris got going Glasgow were a 1 man team although Liam Carr ride better than his score suggests.

Get Tero signed up for next year.

Would be nice to watch a match with two 7 man teams. Can't remember the last time it happened.

Know exactly how you feel it does get frustrating especially when not just us but most teams are weakened due to injuries not a lot you can do about it except get on with it.

Well done to the Diamonds deserved to go through to next round. Please beat those monarchs, have to say though Aaron Summers was awesome in both legs and Liam Carr fought well at brough for little reward
