2016 Speedway Gp Qualifiers

Recommended Posts

Well 5 brits tried and 5 failed, i dont know how they do the draw but the line up for Kings lynn was alot stronger than Germany yesterday. NO brits in the semi final but one from Austria what is happening?

CCP bureau (= FIM) allocate the federation slots to the qualifiers. This is not realy a draw.

Well then how does CCP allocate the slots? Does the federations request slots at a certain qualifier?

From the pictures ive seen it looked incredibly wet and riders were apparently forced to ride. That tapes exclusion and then only going to heat 12 didint help King at all, he would've probably qualified.

here is a short local tv report of the Abensberg meeting, shows how bad the conditions were http://www.tvaktuell.com/mediathek/video/abensberg-speedway-im-dauerregen/

1. Well then how does CCP allocate the slots? 2. Does the federations request slots at a certain qualifier?

1. Not 100% certain, but tracks a fed's wanting to host a quali play a part. Also past merit for the fed is included.

2. No, they ask for qualifying places with out given a chance to affect where it is.

All this is dealt yearly around November and then published. The most stupid thing about it is point 2. Like Finland asked for 2 GP quali slots, we got one to Kings Lynn. From the 4 meetings in the GP quali's that was the furthest location measured from Helsinki harbour. Same with U21 WC quali. So the federation ask's 100% commitment from the riders that want to win a world championhip/to take part, but cant tell you where you ride until 2-3 months later...

It also depends on the wild cards for the challenge final, if Hampel get's one, he will be clear favourites due to home track knowledge and because is normally

is a very fast gater which is very essential in Vetlanda.

Nice to see Lambert with a semi wild card ride - good experiance, and who knows where it may take him.

Nice to see KK and FF being favoured by some - 2 exciting riders

Hampel, Emil or aj/lindback if not top 8 would seem logical wildcards, and all would have a great shot of top 8.

Of those currently in the qualifiers, hard to look past kk Freddie and zmazlick, but it's a long season and the challenge some way off.

Do like Lambert but he failed to qualify on his home track & lost a run off to Cook & yet he still gets the spot??

Bit of a slap in the face for Cooky that.
