Should Roscoe Step Down As Gb Team Manager ?

Recommended Posts

Swindon have now named their full team.

1 - 5 are all Australians which is Swindon's prerogative to choose and I have no problem with any of those riders,

What signal does this send out and is it time for Roscoe to step down as GB team manager and let someone else come in ?

Rosco.......it sends out the signal that Aussies have a tough positive arrogant winning mentality, and that can only be good for Swindon speedway club. Didn't make any difference when Middlo was managing non-English Poole teams. No one but Rosco to manage GB, who else would want the job anyway?

I think he should stand down because he doesn't portray an impressive image, irrespective of who is riding for Swindon.

What has Rosco actually delivered in his two years as Team GB manager? Last season's performance in the World Cup was woeful, compounded by Sweden, who are no better than us, actually winning the thing.

You'd think, if Rossiter was taking the job seriously, that he might want one or two of the top Brits in his club side so he could build rapport, learn how they like to prepare for meetings etc. However, on the other hand, if the Team GB manager role is a one week a year job which involved picking the team and making sure they all turn up on time, then what does it matter?

Given that Belle Vue has signed two likely Team GB members, plus two fringe riders, as well as hosting the finals, it would make sense to get Chris Morton involved, if not as manager then at least in some advisory capacity.

Roscoe should step down, and concentrate fulltime on the Swindon Wildcats, was a big influence on their two away wins last weekend

I think Roscoe should stay in his Post.

Chopping and changing Managers never does any good (look at some Football Clubs I could mention). If you want success you have to be patient, and remember that the Team Manager is only as good as the material (Riders) he has to work with.

Roscoe has won the League with Swindon, so he knows how to win. He must be given the chance to do it for England.

No, he shouldn't step down just because the Swindon team is full of Aussies.

He should step down because he's a bit of a nob.

Does he still play as Goalminder for them?

Thought he was a bit of a winkle years ago but he has changed a lot, and had good chat with him when he ran the New Inn. Very passionate Swindonian, wears his heart on his sleeve, and fantastic boss for his local club, where he has a superb record. Best manager of all-time for the Wiltshire club.

Rosco has two jobs, they're separate jobs that shouldn't conflict. What he does in each shouldnt make a blind bit of difference really, unless its something really bad. I have far more issue with his inability to arrange some meetings against other international teams than his selection of the Swindon team.

Do agree with the above suggestion of having Chris Morton involved though.
